Why do our muscles get tired?

Muscles are responsible for the movement of the body. Every bone that can move has muscles attached to it that move it. Muscles pull the bone in the right direction, and they are capable of this action because they can contract, that is, become shorter and thicker. When they contract, they move the bone. When a muscle contracts, it releases lactic acid, which acts as a "fatigue poison", meaning it is the main reason muscles begin to feel tired. This means that when lactic acid leaves the muscles, they can continue to work again.

Thus, during the day, using our muscles in work, we "poison" ourselves with lactic acid. We are starting to get tired. There are other substances in our body that make us feel tired. They are called fatigue toxins and are produced by the body when we do physical labor. The blood carries these toxins throughout the body, and therefore not only the muscles, but the whole body, and especially the brain, begins to feel tired.

The connection between fatigue, lactic acid, and toxins is well illustrated in one interesting experiment. The dog is forced to work until he falls asleep from exhaustion. Then the blood of this dog is transfused into another, feeling cheerful and cheerful. The second dog begins to feel tired and falls asleep from exhaustion during the transfusion! And the results can be opposite if the blood of a cheerful dog is poured into a tired one: this blood will wake up an animal sleeping from fatigue. What is the significance of the appearance of a feeling of fatigue in the body?

The cells of the body need rest. When we are tired and rest, the damage done to the body is reversed: the nerve cells in the brain recharge their batteries, the joints are "lubricated" with bodily fluids, and so on. Sometimes a person during sports activities suddenly falls into a state close to fainting. He feels weak and breathes with difficulty. This is exhaustion, and it is very similar to paralysis.

The cause of this fatigue is unknown, but the condition may be caused by an excess of lactic acid and other fatigue toxins in the body.

When was wine first introduced?

Wine is the fermented juice of grapes. For thousands of years, man has enjoyed its taste. Perhaps the first who began to make wine were Persian peasants who lived near the Caspian Sea. The Egyptians adopted the art of making wine from them in 3000 BC. The drawings on the walls of the tombs in the pyramids depict the ancient Egyptians making wine. Wine was a common drink in the daily life of the ancient Greeks and Romans. It played an important role in religious ceremonies. The Romans had Bacchus as the god of wine, while the Greeks had Dionysus.

In the 1000th century BC, the Greek conqueror Alexander the Great brought grape wine and the secrets of winemaking to Central Asia. The Greeks also brought wine to southern France. In later centuries, Roman conquerors probably brought wine to northern France and Germany. When Lei Erickson landed on the east coast of North America around XNUMX AD, he discovered so many wild grapes growing there that he named the place the land of vines.

Later Spanish conquerors and missionaries brought grapes from Europe to California. Wine was used during ceremonies in many ancient religions. And nowadays it is used in many Christian and Jewish religious ceremonies. In times when there was a lack of drinking water, it was believed that drinking wine is not harmful, but good for health.

Wine can be made from many fruits and plants that contain natural sugar. But mostly wine is made from grapes. When we say "wine" without adding the name of the fruit, such as "peach wine" or "blackberry wine", we always mean grape wine. There are more than 8 thousand varieties of grapes for making wine.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Robots have been taught to smell 22.01.2023

The developers of Tel Aviv University taught the works to smell with the help of a biological sensor. The sensor sends electrical signals in response to the presence of an odor nearby, which the robot can detect and interpret.

This biological and technological breakthrough was made by doctoral student Nata Shvil from the Sagol School of Neurology at Tel Aviv University, Dr. Ben Maoz from the Fleishman Department of Engineering and the Sagol School of Neurology, and Prof. Yossi Yovel and Prof. Amir Ayali from the Sagol School of Zoology and the School of Neuroscience.

The developers have created a platform in which biological sensors and electronics are integrated. It allows you to use the biological nose in a certain place using an electronic device. Locust antennae are used as a biological sensor.

Scientists have made an autonomous chassis with artificial intelligence and sensors. The algorithm learned to recognize eight "pure" smells, including geranium, lemon and marzipan, plus two mixtures of different smells. At the same time, the sensitivity of the hybrid "nose" turned out to be 10 times greater than that of modern specialized odor analyzers.

According to the developers, one day their platform will be able to find drugs, explosives and more.
