How many times do we change teeth?

A person's teeth change twice: first, he has children's teeth, and then - adult, permanent teeth. In a complete set of teeth, four types are distinguished, each of which performs its own, specific tasks. The incisors, which are in the center, bite the food. The fangs, which are located on both sides of the incisors, rub the food. Small molars, which are placed just behind the fangs, grind and grind food. Large molars at the back of the mouth grind food.

There are twenty children's teeth in total, ten each in the upper and lower jaws. They begin to form about 30 weeks after birth. In most children, the lower incisors appear first. They usually erupt when the child is about six months old. Between the sixth and thirtieth months the rest appear.

Among the first children's teeth are four incisors, two canines and four large molars. Of the 32 permanent teeth, 28 usually grow between the sixth and fourteenth year of a child's life. The remaining four, or wisdom teeth, grow between the ages of seventeen and twenty-one. Permanent teeth include four incisors, two canines, four small molars and six large molars in each jaw. The twelve permanent large molars do not replace the original, baby teeth.

As the jaw lengthens, they grow behind the original teeth. Small molars from the permanent composition replace the large molars of the primary composition. The first large molars, often referred to as six-year-old molars, are usually the first to erupt. They are the largest and are among the most important teeth. Their position in the jaw helps determine the shape of the lower face and the position of the rest of the permanent teeth. They often appear just behind the original molars and are mistaken for the original ones too.

Are there any benefits to mosquitoes?

Mosquitoes (mosquitoes) live on Earth, like all other organisms. A person does not want this, he tries to get rid of them, but he does not succeed well. Mosquitoes are distributed throughout the Earth. Some species are ubiquitous, while others are found only in certain areas. About 70 species of mosquitoes live in the United States. Man wants to get rid of mosquitoes because some species spread disease. Insects carrying the yellow fever virus, for example, have been eradicated from many tropical areas where they have been found.

Mosquitoes have two more features that irritate humans. First, mosquitoes bite. When a female mosquito bites, she releases a poisonous liquid into the bloodstream. This venom causes pain and itching at the site of the bite. Secondly, annoying mosquito buzzing. This buzzing is very important for mosquitoes, it is a kind of love game. The male calls the female with a low, deep sound of rapidly vibrating wings. And the female makes a piercing sound.

Can mosquitoes be somehow useful to humans? The only benefit can be derived when certain species of these insects eat other species that are even more harmful. For example, the larvae of those mosquitoes that do not bite are fed by the larvae of others that bite.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Salads are healthier with fat sauce 07.07.2012

Fresh vegetables used to make salads contain a huge amount of vitamins and other nutrients, but you can only get them if you choose the right salad dressing.

Purdue University conducted a clinical study in which 29 volunteers ate a salad dressed with butter (as a saturated fat), canola oil (as a monounsaturated fat), and corn oil (as a polyunsaturated fat). Each of the salads was served with 3, 8 or 20 grams of dressing.

The researchers then measured the participants' blood levels of fat-soluble carotenoids, compounds found in plant foods that may reduce the risk of developing a range of chronic and degenerative diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular disease.

It turned out that the degree of digestibility of carotenoids to a greater extent depended on the dose of corn oil, mainly consisting of polyunsaturated fatty acids. The efficiency of carotenoid absorption also depended on the amount of saturated fat, but this pattern was less pronounced.

At the same time, when using rapeseed oil rich in monounsaturated fatty acids for salad dressing, the amount of assimilated carotenoids did not depend on the dose of oil. These results indicate that for people looking to reduce their calorie intake and at the same time want to get the most out of their vegetables, salad dressings rich in monounsaturated fatty acids, such as rapeseed and olive oils, are an ideal choice.
