N-trig and NVIDIA to improve touch input in mobile devices 05.03.2012

N-trig has announced a partnership with NVIDIA to improve tablet support for multi-touch and pen input.

The improvement is expected to be achieved by combining the N-trig DuoSense interface, which provides pen input and recognition of multiple simultaneous touches, with the NVIDIA DirectTouch architecture.
The DirectTouch architecture improves user responsiveness by offloading touch-related processing to NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor cores, the world's only 4-PLUS-1 quad-core processor with a lower-power fifth core.

As for N-trig DuoSense, this patented technology allows both pen input and multi-touch multi-touch input to be implemented in one device. Applications for this development, according to N-trig, include electronic devices for home, corporate and educational segments. DuoSense supports Windows and Android and will be compatible with Windows 8.
