How does the male rhinoderm frog help the female in parenting?

Rhinoderma (Rhinodermatinae) is a small, brightly colored frog that lives in the mountains of South America.

When the female lays a few large eggs in the water, the male captures them with his mouth and sends them to the throat sac. The larvae hatched from the eggs first feed on the remnants of the yolk, and after fusion of their backs with the walls of the throat sac, they receive nutrition through the blood vessels of the father penetrating these walls. Upon completion of development, the tadpoles that have lost their tail alternately get out of the throat sac, first into the father's oral cavity, and then outside, and pass to life in the reservoir.

The funny thing is that all this time the male continues to eat.
