Why do muscles hurt after exercise?

The human body contains 639 muscles, each of which has its own name! Together they form flesh. Many muscles are tightly connected to the bones of the skeleton. All muscles are made up of long, thin cells called muscle fibers. But muscles differ in what and how they do. They differ in shape, appearance, size and other features. When a muscle contracts, it releases an acid called lactic acid. The effect of lactic acid is that it makes you tired. Its effect is similar to poison. It makes the muscles tired.
