Luxury (symbol: lx, lx) - a unit of measurement of illumination in the SI system.

Lux is equal to the illumination of a surface with an area of 1 m2, with a luminous flux of radiation falling on it equal to 1 lm.

Simply put, lux measures the illuminance of the surface on which the light falls. Luxmeters are used to measure illumination.

The most favorable illumination is 200 lux.

Everything is relative:

Cars turn on the low beam when the illumination is 250-200 lux;
City lighting 3-2 lux;
Reading a newspaper is difficult below illumination of 5 lux;
