Focus Description:

How can you name them sequentially without looking at the cards.

Focus secret:

The first method

You take a deck of cards and discreetly notice the bottom card. Then tell the audience that you can name all the cards in the deck in sequence without looking at them. You take the deck behind your back and turn the top card face back on top of the deck and, holding the deck facing the audience, name the bottom card that you looked at beforehand. Due to the position in which you hold the deck, the top card is clearly visible. Putting the deck back behind your back again, you move the last called card down, turn over the next card, and so on.

Suddenly someone from the audience says that he knows the secret of this trick. You, holding your hands behind your back, simply flip the top card down without flipping the other card. At the same time, you say that he is most likely mistaken, and you name the card. The spectator, of course, stands his ground and claims that you have a card open on the back of the deck. You calmly show the deck from the other side and say that you can name the cards before you show the deck to the audience. If someone decides to shuffle the cards, then calmly give them to the viewer. After that, you do this trick using the second option.

second method

You notice the bottom card again. Carry the deck behind your back and name the card you just saw. Take your right hand behind your back and hide the top card in your palm. After that, take the bottom card just called face up and, holding it with your thumb and forefinger, drop it on the table. At this time, quietly look at the card that is hidden in your hand.

Again, put your hands behind your back, name the previously hidden card and hide the next one. So you can continue the focus as long as you like.

When performing the trick, you need to take care not to stand too close to the audience. You should also not hurry with the name of the card, so that the audience does not think that you will recognize it by bringing your hand forward. For plausibility, we advise you to bring forward the right hand first, as if there is nothing in it, and before calling the card, pretend that you are thinking hard.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

New windows regulate temperature and light 31.07.2002

In a few years, traditional glass and plastic windows will be replaced by liquid crystal structures that can independently regulate the temperature and degree of lighting in the premises.

A research team at Research Frontiers has created "chameleon" windows that are controlled by electrical signals. The new windows use a unique technology of light-absorbing microscopic particles - "light barriers". Millions of these particles are placed between transparent planes and have the ability to move freely.

The coating, which is like a film placed on top of them, is a conductor. When an electrical voltage is applied to the structure, the microparticles organize themselves in such a way that light can pass through the device unhindered. In the absence of voltage, the particles "disorganize" and the window becomes impenetrable. This technology can be used not only for windows, but also for ski goggles, car mirrors, etc.

According to the developers, their only competitors are manufacturers of liquid crystal and electrochromic windows. The current liquid-crystal window glass is considered one of the most "intimate", as it allows a milky-opaque lighting mode, when an illusion of thick fog is created that is comfortable for a person on a sunny day. A feature of a multilayer electrochromic window is that its light transmission depends on the behavior of the ionic layer, which is controlled by electrical voltage.

Electrochromic windows are so promising that, according to the forecasts of the US Department of Energy, industrial production of more formatted electrochromic glasses will begin this year, and their price in mass production will not exceed $15-20 per 1 m2.
