The first method

We put the desired card on top. We hold the deck in the right hand, lengthwise, with the shirt up. We push the top card above the deck so that it protrudes a little. Then we drop the deck. Due to air resistance, the top card will turn over during the fall and lie face down, and the rest of the cards will fall face down.

second method

We put the desired card on top of the deck and hold the deck loosely with the thumb and other fingers of the right hand. The thumb is on the front side, and the rest, slightly wetted, are on the back of the deck.

Focus Ways to demonstrate a guessed card

We make a sharp movement with the hand and brush back. As a result, all cards will fall out of the hand, except for the top one, which will be better pressed to wet fingers.

A third method

Put this card on top of the deck. We pass the deck to some spectator. We pass the cards face down, which means that the desired card is at the bottom, and the thumb of the holder is above the deck, and the rest of the fingers are under the deck. Ask the spectator to hold the cards firmly, and when he does, then strike the deck with your index finger in a downward direction. The spectator will drop all cards except the bottom one, which will remain in the hand due to friction and will be facing the spectator.

This method is very old, but always makes a great impression on the audience. You need to make sure that the thumb of the spectator holding the cards does not protrude more than one centimeter from the edge of the deck, and those fingers that are under the deck should grab the deck by about 2 cm.

If you wish, you yourself can take the deck in your hands and ask the spectator to hit it. It's a good idea to wet your fingers, but keep your thumb dry, as this will give you a better grip on the card.

The fourth way

We lay out the desired card and any seven other cards in two rows on the table, face down. You should note which of these cards is yours, but do not show the cards to the spectators. Ask the person who selected the card to confirm that they recognize the card. Then ask him or someone else to touch four of the eight cards on the table. The card we need is either included or not included in these cards.

In any case, you take the four cards that do not include the desired card and put them back into the deck. Again ask the spectator to touch two of the four remaining cards. Regardless of his actions, you again remove two cards that do not contain the one you are looking for into the deck.

Only two cards remain on the table, of which we need only one. Again ask the spectator to touch one card and put an unnecessary card into the deck with the words: “We have only one card left. You all saw that I dealt eight cards and took the ones you indicated. Now I ask you to name that card, which you remember." The spectators name a card, you turn over the remaining card, and it turns out to be the correct card.

The whole point here is that the magician can interpret the viewer's touch on the card in two ways. He can count a touch either to remove a card or to leave it on the table. And this ambiguity of his behavior is not perceived by the audience as a deception, but looks like a simple whim of a magician.

With some sleight of hand, this technique will help you achieve full focus. The desired card is marked and returned to the deck. Then it is transferred upward with the help of a volt, hiding in the palm of your hand. Now you can safely shuffle the deck. After that, you deal eight cards with a hidden one and open the card in the manner described.

Solidification of bulk substances 30.04.2024

There are quite a few mysteries in the world of science, and one of them is the strange behavior of bulk materials. They may behave like a solid but suddenly turn into a flowing liquid. This phenomenon has attracted the attention of many researchers, and we may finally be getting closer to solving this mystery. Imagine sand in an hourglass. It usually flows freely, but in some cases its particles begin to get stuck, turning from a liquid to a solid. This transition has important implications for many areas, from drug production to construction. Researchers from the USA have attempted to describe this phenomenon and come closer to understanding it. In the study, the scientists conducted simulations in the laboratory using data from bags of polystyrene beads. They found that the vibrations within these sets had specific frequencies, meaning that only certain types of vibrations could travel through the material. Received ... >>

Implanted brain stimulator 30.04.2024

In recent years, scientific research in the field of neurotechnology has made enormous progress, opening new horizons for the treatment of various psychiatric and neurological disorders. One of the significant achievements was the creation of the smallest implanted brain stimulator, presented by a laboratory at Rice University. Called Digitally Programmable Over-brain Therapeutic (DOT), this innovative device promises to revolutionize treatments by providing more autonomy and accessibility to patients. The implant, developed in collaboration with Motif Neurotech and clinicians, introduces an innovative approach to brain stimulation. It is powered through an external transmitter using magnetoelectric power transfer, eliminating the need for wires and large batteries typical of existing technologies. This makes the procedure less invasive and provides more opportunities to improve patients' quality of life. In addition to its use in treatment, resist ... >>

The perception of time depends on what one is looking at 29.04.2024

Research in the field of the psychology of time continues to surprise us with its results. Recent discoveries by scientists from George Mason University (USA) turned out to be quite remarkable: they discovered that what we look at can greatly influence our sense of time. During the experiment, 52 participants took a series of tests, estimating the duration of viewing various images. The results were surprising: the size and detail of the images had a significant impact on the perception of time. Larger, less cluttered scenes created the illusion of time slowing down, while smaller, busier images gave the feeling of time speeding up. Researchers suggest that visual clutter or detail overload can make it difficult to perceive the world around us, which in turn can lead to faster perception of time. Thus, it was shown that our perception of time is closely related to what we look at. Larger and smaller ... >>

Swallow surgeon 17.07.2005

In the Italian medical center of St. Anne in the city of Pontedera, a prototype of a surgical robot measuring 2,5 by 1 centimeter has been created.

The patient swallows this capsule, the built-in television camera transmits by radio an image of the stomach and intestines. Under the control of a doctor, the robot can perform microsurgical operations. The robot moves on six thin legs, unable to damage the mucous membrane of the digestive tract.

Experimental checks are ahead, first on animals.
