The algorithm of the game is based on an old logical problem about a wolf, a goat and a cabbage, which the carrier must transport to the other side of the river in a two-seater boat so that a wolf with a goat or a goat with cabbage does not remain on the shore at the same time.

The scheme of the device that implements the conditions of the game is shown in the figure.

The device consists of a logical node made on a D1 chip (K155LA4), switching elements SI-S5, an audio signaling unit on a D2 chip (K155LAZ) and a V3 transistor (MP38). The device is powered by a 3336L battery and consumes current up to_50.mA. The situation at the crossing is set by the position of the switches S1...S4. From the output of the switches, when the S6 button is pressed, the "logical 0" level is applied to the inputs of the logic node microcircuits D1.1, D1.2, D2.1, D2.2. The logical node generates an error signal when a dangerous situation occurs (a wolf and a goat or a goat and a cabbage on the shore). In this case, a "logical 1" signal appears at the output of element D2 or D0 and one of the LEDs lights up, signaling a dangerous situation. At the same time, the "logic 1" level is applied to the enable input of the sound signal generator, which can be turned off by switch S5.

The signal from the output of the generator, assembled according to the multivibrator circuit, is fed through the power amplifier V3 to the dynamic head B1. The volume level is controlled by resistor R6. Switch S6 can be used to exclude the consumption of energy from the source during the thinking of moves. Before the start of the game, the switches S1-S4 must be in the position corresponding to the situation when the wolf, cabbage, goat and carrier are on the same bank of the river.

On the front panel of the device, a river is drawn, in which the switches "Carrier", "Goat", "Wolf", "Cabbage" are installed in a row. LEDs are installed on the opposite banks, which, when lit, indicate on which of the banks an emergency situation has developed. In the corner of the panel there is a "Crossing" button and a toggle switch to turn off the sound alarm.

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Major risk factor for gambling addiction 07.05.2024

Computer games are becoming an increasingly popular form of entertainment among teenagers, but the associated risk of gaming addiction remains a significant problem. American scientists conducted a study to determine the main factors contributing to this addiction and offer recommendations for its prevention. Over the course of six years, 385 teenagers were followed to find out what factors may predispose them to gambling addiction. The results showed that 90% of study participants were not at risk of addiction, while 10% became gambling addicts. It turned out that the key factor in the onset of gambling addiction is a low level of prosocial behavior. Teenagers with a low level of prosocial behavior do not show interest in the help and support of others, which can lead to a loss of contact with the real world and a deepening dependence on virtual reality offered by computer games. Based on these results, scientists ... >>

Traffic noise delays the growth of chicks 06.05.2024

The sounds that surround us in modern cities are becoming increasingly piercing. However, few people think about how this noise affects the animal world, especially such delicate creatures as chicks that have not yet hatched from their eggs. Recent research is shedding light on this issue, indicating serious consequences for their development and survival. Scientists have found that exposure of zebra diamondback chicks to traffic noise can cause serious disruption to their development. Experiments have shown that noise pollution can significantly delay their hatching, and those chicks that do emerge face a number of health-promoting problems. The researchers also found that the negative effects of noise pollution extend into the adult birds. Reduced chances of reproduction and decreased fertility indicate the long-term effects that traffic noise has on wildlife. The study results highlight the need ... >>

Fed up with just one scent 07.10.2007

As you know, the greedy baker tried to charge Khoja Nasreddin for using the aroma of barbecue, and then Khoja paid off with the sound of coins. It turns out that the claims of the steward were not so groundless.

The smell of food has almost the same effect on fruit flies as the food itself. It has been known since the thirties of the last century that the reduction of calorie intake and starvation prolong the life of many animals. This effect is also known in Drosophila.

However, as experiments recently carried out in the USA have shown, flies kept from hand to mouth, but with a constant smell of food (yeast), live no longer than those fed to the dump. When geneticists bred a line of flies devoid of smell, it turned out that the smell of food does not affect their lifespan and poor nutrition prolongs their lifespan even with the constant smell of food.

Scientists suggest that the smell, which promises abundant food, disables the energy-saving program that operates in a starving body, and this reduces life expectancy.
