Focus Description:

Weird Lemonade"

Visual effect of focus. The artist, embarrassed by the disappearance of the thing, tries to reassure the viewer. He recalls that he has excellent lemonade, which is good for calming nerves. The magician asks an assistant to bring a bottle of lemonade and a glass. The assistant brings a tray with a glass from behind the wings, holding a beautifully painted case in the other hand, and passes it to the magician. The artist removes the top of the case and takes out a large bottle from its lower half, from which he pours lemonade into a glass (Fig. 253).

The magician, having untied the item, returns it to its owner and asks to be excused for the disturbance caused.

Number with the appearance of a guinea pig - a spectacular ending of the trick "Mysterious Package".

Props:

1. A bottle with a secret compartment for lemonade and a guinea pig.

2. A bottle case made from two halves.

3. Tray and glass goblet.

Focus secret:

On fig. 256 shows a bottle in section. It consists of two parts. The upper part is carved from wood. Lemonade is poured inside. The lower part of the bottle with a bottom is made of sheet iron and sealed. Parts of the bottle are carefully fitted one to the other. It is necessary to make sure that the upper part is firmly held in the lower one, but at the same time these parts can be easily separated. In the lower part, made taking into account the size of the pig, the pig is carefully planted and the bottle is closed.

The case is made of cardboard and well glued. First, a whole long cylinder is made, dried well, and then cut into two parts and grooves are cut from the inside so that the parts fit one into the other. After that, the lower part of the bottle is inserted into one of the parts and the cylinder is cut so that the bottom can be inserted. After inserting the bottom, glue it. Now the bottom of the case is ready. Then the case is closed and the second part of the bottle is lowered into it from above, making sure that both parts of the bottle are correctly connected. Then they cut the case just above the neck of the bottle, cut out the cap and insert it. In the center of the lid, a round hole should be made for the finger, which should hold the top of the bottle in the case while "breaking" it into two parts. The manufactured bottle should be carefully painted so that it does not differ from a real glass bottle.

The tray and glass goblet for lemonade are the most common.

Focus preparation and demonstration. Backstage, lemonade is poured into the top of the bottle beforehand. A satin ribbon bow is put on the neck of the guinea pig and a clip is attached to it. At the right moment, the “missing” thing is inserted into the clip. Before the bottle with the guinea pig loaded into it is lowered into the case, a small cork is placed on the bottom of it under the bottle. Thanks to this, the bottle will not sink to the bottom and can be easily removed from the case. Having taken out the bottle and poured lemonade out of it, the magician, before lowering the bottle back into the case, as if inadvertently turns it over, and the cork falls out. Now the bottle will sink to the very bottom of the case. The case is closed, and the magician, having passed the index finger of his right hand into the hole in the case lid, presses the top of the bottle against the wall of the case. Then, holding the case with his left hand, he pretends to break it over his knee into two pieces. A guinea pig appears at the bottom of the bottle, and all the attention of the audience is fixed on it. The upper half of the case with the bottle is given to the assistant, he puts it on a tray and takes it backstage.

Both the case and the bottle inside must be painted black.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Device for the treatment of mosquito bites 19.04.2000

Closer to summer, a variety of "tweeters" to repel mosquitoes are in great demand. However, many believe that such devices do not completely solve the problem.

Perhaps this circumstance forced representatives of the German "Society of Applied Technologies" to develop an electronic device for healing mosquito bites. When touched on affected areas of the skin, the device sends out a thermal impulse that destroys mosquito venom and instantly relieves itching and subsequent redness of the skin.

Approximate price of the device in Germany DM50.
