Focus Description:

Having shown a large silk handkerchief, the performer folds his hands with his palms together and, waving the handkerchief, takes it inside his palms (see Fig. 229)

Turning slightly to the right and left, he opens his palms and shows the audience the egg that has appeared in them (see Fig. 230, A). Then, closing the egg in his palms, he makes a movement with his hands, as if rubbing something in them. He opens his palms again - and the audience sees that the egg has disappeared.

Large silk scarf.

Egg shell with rubber band (pulling "mechanism").

The secret of the trick falls into two parts: the first is the disappearance of the handkerchief and the appearance of the egg (as described above); the second is the disappearance of the egg from the hands.

Here we again resort to the help of thin, strong, elastic rubber. The best fit is the same bicycle nipple tube, one end of which is firmly attached to the egg shell and passed through a small roller fixed in a metal clip. The clip itself is attached to a piece of leather with a safety pin. Thus, the roller can be placed where it is convenient for you, for example, on the inside of a jacket. A loop is tied at the other end of the rubber, which can be worn on a belt or fastened to a button. All simple mechanics are shown in Fig. 231.

At the right moment, turning around, under the cover of the body and waving your hands, you imperceptibly take the shell from under the floor and, pulling the rubber tightly, tuck the handkerchief into it. Show the shell as a whole egg. Using the same distractions (turns and swings), you quietly release the shell from your clenched palms. She instantly disappears under the hollow of the jacket. By continuing to make a rubbing motion with your palms, you can open your hands and show them empty.
