At the very beginning of work, while you are mastering the first tricks and your repertoire has only a few numbers that you show in concerts, you work alone, without helpers. But gradually there are more and more tricks in your arsenal, and the shows are lengthening in time - here an assistant-assistant becomes necessary.

To the uninitiated, it seems that a magician's assistant is something like an auxiliary worker. In fact, this is absolutely not the case. This is the same artist-magician, he, along with the host of the performance, participates in the demonstration of tricks and is fully responsible for the success of the entire performance. The assistant delivers and removes objects and devices that have become unnecessary in time. On the one hand, this maintains the pace of the presentation, and on the other hand, it is precisely in this that the secrets of tricks are very often hidden. There are tricks that are impossible to show without assistants. You will learn more about this in the following sections. The assistant does not go on stage unnecessarily, does not stay there for too long, and constantly consciously plays the role of a modest auxiliary worker for a magician. That is why the public does not suspect him of complicity.

The assistant has a lot to do behind the scenes too. He must prepare and charge the equipment in a timely manner, quickly make the necessary replacements and substitutions. He constantly monitors the course of the program, it always lies in front of him, written clearly. He is resourceful and at the right moment immediately comes to the aid of the presenter, and when he briefly goes backstage, the assistant manages to free the host from unnecessary, unnecessary items and "charge" him with new ones for the next numbers. At the same time, he manages to introduce the artist to the program of the next show. As you can see, the assistant has a lot of all sorts of work and his importance and responsibility are enormous. He rehearses all the tricks together with the leader, and the leader must take into account his opinion, since, participating in the trick, the assistant simultaneously has the opportunity to see the trick from the side, that is, as a spectator.

Professional magicians who give large performances, sometimes consisting of several departments, often use the services of several assistants, which the audience does not even know about, that is, they do not appear on stage at all.

Both men and women can assist a magician with equal success, but not every person can be an assistant. First of all, your assistant should love tricks as much as you do, and also devote a lot of time to preparing and practicing them. In addition, you must be absolutely sure that your assistant will not reveal the secrets of tricks. Under no circumstances should anyone's curiosity be satisfied by revealing the "mechanics" of the trick, not only because it causes you a certain "damage", but also because by doing so you deprive the most curious of the opportunity to see the interesting trick again. So you gradually lose all your viewers.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

New low-cost processor delivers 1000x faster video 17.08.2013

A group of researchers from the University of Michigan, USA, led by Professor Wei Lu, has begun developing a chip designed to process video data. The scientists' goal is to make the processor process video a thousand times faster than current solutions while consuming 10 times less electrical energy, according to Phys.org.

According to Lou, there are so many video surveillance systems in the world today that there will soon be a point where existing computing systems will no longer be able to keep up with the amount of video data generated. "We plan to create a system that will be able to do this," the scientist said.

The chip, which American scientists have begun to develop, is characterized as a "processor with a self-organizing adaptive neural network." This network will be made of standard transistors, as well as new elements called memristors. A memristor is a memory resistor whose resistance value depends on how much current was previously passed through the element. The new chip will be able to self-learn and process a large number of signals in parallel, scientists say.

Instead of processing the image pixel by pixel, as is done today, the neural network will "look" at the entire image and identify non-systematic structures in it through logical inference.

“The idea is based on the premise that most of the video information is noise,” Lu explains. “Instead of processing and transmitting all this noise, an adaptive neural network will be able to isolate key information and reconstruct the image based on a small portion of data.”

The work will take place in two stages. At the first stage, scientists plan to use memristors as memory in addition to conventional connections to equip the chip with a self-learning mechanism. At the second stage, it is planned to replace the junctions of traditional electrical circuits with memristors, that is, to make synapses out of them, creating an analogue of the brain of a living being.
