The performer offers the tied ones to free themselves from each other without untying the knots. Despite their best efforts, the Bound are unable to complete the magician's assignments. Then the artist, freeing the hands of the presenter, asks him to tie his hands. Having shown everyone that his hands are connected with the hands of the viewer, as required by the condition, the magician makes several deft movements and frees himself from the comrade with whom he was connected. It happens in an instant.

Focus secret:

The props for this trick are extremely simple. It consists of two pieces of ordinary rope 50-60 cm long.

At first glance, it seems that it is impossible to get rid of the bound ones without untying the knots. But look carefully at Fig. 3. Maybe many of you will understand how this can be done from the drawing.

To separate the bound ones, the performer needs to quickly and deftly move his right hand to take the middle of the rope that binds the viewer's hands and pull it to the wrist of his left hand. Then the middle of the rope is threaded into a loop that wraps around the wrist of the performer's left hand from the side of the palm away from him (see Fig. 3). When this combination is done (this is the most difficult and crucial moment of the trick), the performer has only one more movement to make and he will be free. To do this, he needs to throw the loop formed on the wrist of his left hand (Fig. 4).

The released rope will slip out of the ring at the wrist of the left hand and free the bound ones (Fig. 5).

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Silicon clock, not electronic 08.07.2006

Silicon microcircuits are used in electronic digital watches, and their very pulsating "heart" - a quartz crystal - is silicon dioxide.

And recently, the well-known Swiss company "Patek Philippe" has found the use of silicon in high-class mechanical watches. Using the photolithography method, which is used in the manufacture of microcircuits, Swiss watchmakers cut out the thinnest spiral from a silicon plate with a thickness of just over a tenth of a millimeter. She replaced the steel hair of the balance in the watches of the latest model.

Unlike steel, silicon is non-magnetic, so the new watch is not afraid of magnetic fields. The material is also insensitive to temperature changes. But the main thing is that the silicon spiral contracts and expands much more evenly than the steel one, which made it possible to increase the accuracy of the stroke.

The first batch of dozens of silicon watches priced at $20 went on sale in Basel in the spring of 2006.
