Focus Description:

Spectators remove the shuffled deck, and the first four cards removed are dealt to four spectators. The values of the four cards are written down - they represent a three-digit number and a single digit. The phone book is taken out, and a page with the same number opens in it.

The line corresponding to a single digit is counted out, and the magician reads ("remembers") the name, address and telephone number on this line.

Focus secret:

1. Tell the audience that you are going to demonstrate the ingenious ability of memory. Tell them that nowadays people have almost forgotten the art of remembering phone numbers, because they just look them up in the memory of their mobile phones, but you have developed your memory and show what it can do.

2. Take out a deck of cards that is prepared in such a way that you know the top four cards. Let's say it's a two of diamonds, an ace of clubs, an eight of hearts and a nine of spades.

3. Say, "I'm going to have a good shuffle." Perform several fake shuffles while keeping four cards intact on top of the deck. Now you must force these cards to the spectators. I suggest using the "double turn" forcing method.

4. When each of the two volunteers removes and turns over a part of the deck and you take the first card lying face down, ask someone from the audience, let's say Danila, to take it and look after it. As you know, this is a deuce of tambourines. Now ask Galina to take the next card - of course, the ace of clubs. Ask Galina to hold it for a minute, and Margarita to take the next card. Margarita looks after the eight of hearts, and you ask Vitaliy to take the next card - the nine of spades.

5. Now take paper and pencil and say: "We have four cards chosen absolutely randomly from a shuffled deck. So, Danila, what card did you have?" He calls, and you say: “Two. I write down“ two. ”Ask Margarita and Galina in turn and write down their numbers, saying:“ We got 218. (Ace, of course, corresponds to one.) So, let 218 be indicate the page number. And what card do you have, Vitaly?" He calls the nine of spades. Say: "Excellent. Let it be the ninth entry on the page. So, we got the 218th page, the ninth entry.
