Among the devices that make life easier for motorists, not the last place is occupied by a miniature device, which received the "popular" name Antison [1]. It resembles a hearing aid and. just like it, it is attached behind the driver's ear. As soon as the driver's head leans forward, a loud beep sounds (the device does not react to head tilts to the sides and back).

It is clear that in a branded device there is an anti-sleep and a “branded” filling, which is not so easy to get. But there is a simple way out. The domestic industry produces mercury position (tilt) sensors, which are a glass case (12x5 mm) with two leads-contacts and a drop of mercury sealed inside (Fig. 1).

The RDP-8610 type mercury position sensor (similar to SS-053) is used in cars and motorcycles to control the suspension angle, open the hood, trunk, etc. Nothing prevents the use of such a sensor in Antisna as well.

Of course, such an Antison device has its drawbacks. It is difficult to accurately set the angle of inclination without special equipment, at which Antison will work stably, the sensor has a noticeable inertia, and the mercury inside is highly toxic (if the sensor is broken). But in Antisna, these disadvantages do not play a special role. When the driver falls asleep, the head falls "well", and by providing the possibility of turning the sensor in the body, you can choose the position of its operation quite accurately. The inertia of the sensor (the response delay is tenths of a second) in this device can be neglected, and to protect the sensor from damage, "pack" it. for example, in foam rubber.

The RDP-8610 sensor contains a pair of normally open contacts with a maximum permissible switching current of 2 A. The operating temperature range is from -30 to +45°C. With appropriate protection from external influences, the RPD works effectively in liquid, humid environments and in conditions of high vibration. By adding power to it (three STs-21 elements with a total voltage of 4,5 V) and a BF1 piezoelectric capsule with a built-in AF generator of the 1205FXP type (Fig. 2), we get the same Antison.

It is most convenient to place the structure in the body of the hearing aid (Fig. 3). After setting the required response angle and "field" tests, the position of the sensor in the housing is securely fixed.

In addition to the piezoelectric radiation, the RDP can also include another load with its contacts (LED, low-current electromagnetic relay, optoelectronic or current switch, etc.). The voltage of the GB1 battery is selected for a specific load.

The practical application of the Antison device can be varied. For example, as a head position sensor when installed in a computer "gamer" helmet, as a sensor for monitoring the position of building structures (towers or derricks that deviate under the action of the wind), etc.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

iPhone SDH Released 16.04.2008

What was initially presented as an innovative mobile phone is gradually turning into something more, namely, into a serious competitor to smartphones and communicators, not only in the consumer sector, but also in the corporate one.

The first sign of a new stage in the development of the iPhone was the release of the corresponding tools for software developers, which took place on March 6, 2008 at a special press conference by Apple. During this event, the potential that the American manufacturer laid in its offspring was demonstrated, and it is considerable.

For corporate users, this is full support for Microsoft Exchange, and communication with the Exchange server is carried out directly, and not through additional firewalls and servers. The consumer, on the other hand, expects a significant expansion of the functionality of the device thanks to high-quality software and serious games (for example, Spore and Super Monkey Ball) from third-party manufacturers.

Apps can be downloaded to iPhone directly via Wi-Fi or EDGE, or via iTunes.
