The number on the second die is added to the previous sum, and the result is multiplied by ten. Finally, the number that fell on the third die is added to the last number.

As soon as the magician knows the final result, he immediately calls out the three numbers that have fallen.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

DisplayPort 1.3 standard with 32,4Gbps bandwidth 22.09.2014

The DisplayPort 1.3 standard has been published by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA). Compared to the current version of DisplayPort 1.2a, the bandwidth increase has reached 50%, or 32,4 Gbps (8,1 Gbps on each of the four lanes). With transmission overhead included, an uncompressed video stream can be transmitted at 25,92 Gbps.

By increasing the bandwidth, the resolution of monitors can be increased. Now one DisplayPort cable allows you to connect a monitor even with a resolution of 5K (5120x2880 pc). Resolution when connecting multiple monitors to a single port using DisplayPort Multi-Stream technology has also increased. For example, you can connect two 4K monitors (3840x2160 pc) using VESA Coordinated Video Timing.

DisplayPort 1.3 still has the ability to convert video to HDMI, VGA, and DVI. Support for HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0 with CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) is now available, expanding DisplayPort's TV applications to include copy-protected 4K video. The new standard supports the 4:2:0 format that is widely used in consumer TV interfaces. It also improves the ability to transfer other data via DisplayPort simultaneously with video, such as USB 3.0.

The standard is available free of charge to VESA members.
