Focus Description:

The magician stands in front of the audience, and in front of him is a table on which there is a glass with a coin. He announces to the audience that this coin is not simple. She can answer questions and knows almost everything. True, there is one small requirement - these should be questions that can be answered in one word, that is, "yes" or "no." The coin will give answers as follows: if the answer is positive, then it knocks on the glass once, if the answer is negative, then twice. This way, she (actually the person doing the trick) will answer the questions asked by the audience.

Focus secret:

For this trick you need an assistant. In addition, you will need a coin worth five rubles (this, of course, is unprincipled, the main thing is that the coin should be of large diameter), a glass, a table and a long black thread. Oh, and a magic wand.

Place a tablecloth on the table and pin it with buttons. From the edge that is farther from the eyes of the audience, you need to prick a small pin, and pass a thread with a knot under it, at the end of which attach a small wax ball. This ball should be located behind the glass. Having imperceptibly stuck the ball to the coin, the artist lowers it into the glass. After which he asks questions, and his assistant diligently pulls the string, causing the coin to hit the glass.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Trees will help find the bodies of people missing in the forest 02.09.2020

Forensic botanists at the University of Tennessee have come up with a way trees and shrubs can be used to search for the bodies of people who have gone missing in the woods. They note that a decaying body changes the chemical and microbiological composition of the soil, which can be tracked using spectral analysis of plant leaves.

People often disappear in the forest, in order to find them, as a rule, they comb the area and use aerial photography. But the dense canopy of trees and shrubs complicates this task. Now, forensic botanists have suggested using markers on trees and shrubs that can point to the body that lies underneath.

The decomposing body has a serious impact on the environment over an area of about three square meters. In particular, the chemical composition of the soil and local bacterial communities are transformed around it.

Changes in trees and shrubs, the roots of which are near the body, are especially noticeable. The authors illustrate this by the example of one chemical element - nitrogen. The body of an average person contains 2,6 kilograms of nitrogen, which, when decomposed, turns into ammonium.

Calculations show that the concentration of this compound in the soil around the body will increase by 50 times relative to the norm. As a result of additional feeding, plants will be able to produce more chlorophyll, which will be reflected in the color of their leaves. These and other changes can be detected using spectral analysis of the leaves.
