Focus Description:

The magician shows the audience an ordinary wooden hanger, drawing the attention of the audience to two ropes hung on it, and explaining that this is a very convenient way to store props. But "convenience" is not without some problems, one of which the magician is going to demonstrate.

Two volunteers are invited to the stage. Asking one of them for a jacket, the magician hangs it on a hanger next to two ropes. The ends of the ropes are threaded through the sleeves of the jacket. The magician takes one end from each sleeve and ties them together with an overlap (cross). The magician gives each spectator a pair of ends, while he himself holds a hanger in his hands. Then, at the command of the magician, the audience pulls the ends in opposite directions. The rope magically passes through the hanger and the jacket, which is returned to the viewer, and the audience is given the opportunity to check the hanger and the ropes!

Focus secret:

Take two soft ropes about two meters long each, fold them in the middle and tie them together in the centers with white thread.

For this trick, it is better to use a wooden hanger with a wide top. Maybe you already have one, and if not, you can find it in the store: men's suits are usually hung on such hangers. Such a hanger is preferable for two reasons: you will not rumple the viewer's jacket and behind the wide top you will hide the place where the ropes are fastened. Hang the ropes on a hanger. Cover the place of fastening of the centers with the thumb of the right hand.

1. Invite two volunteers to the stage, one of whom must be dressed in a suitable jacket. Ask him to take off his jacket and hang it on a hanger. The centers of the ropes fastened together should be behind the hanger.

2. Invite one of the volunteers to hold the hanger and thread the appropriate ends through the sleeves.

3. Now turn the jacket one hundred and eighty degrees and pass the hanger back to the viewer. The secret fastening at this point is securely hidden under the back of the jacket.

4. The viewer holds the jacket with the back to the audience, and you pick up one end of each sleeve and tie them with a simple overlap knot (cross).

5. Next comes the most important moment of the procedure. When you tie the ends, you automatically change sides of the ropes. This means that the knotted end coming out of the left sleeve is passed to the viewer standing on the right, and the knotted end coming out of the right sleeve is passed to the viewer standing on the left. Make sure not to "cross" the couple again, so that there is no embarrassment.

6. Stand behind your jacket and pick up a hanger. Spectators, each holding their two ends of the rope, stand on the sides. You propose that each spectator at the same time as the other spectator pull both ends together towards him. As a result, the thread that holds the ropes together will break. Two ropes will go through both the hanger and the jacket! You return the jacket to the viewer and give the audience a chance to check the hanger and ropes.

STM32 Nucleo Digital Audio Expansion Boards 03.07.2020

The new X-NUCLEO-CCA01M1 Expansion Board is an expansion board based on the STA2.1BW Sound Terminal 350-channel high performance audio terminal with digital audio output system. It can be paired with the STM32 Nucleo board and allows you to output a digital audio stream to a pair of speakers connected directly to it. The STM32 MCU controls the STA350BW by I2C, and the I2S bus is used to transmit audio data.

The high performance of STM32 microcontrollers allows you to create low-cost digital audio processing devices, from a digital MEMS microphone to transmitting audio to a PC via USB or local playback using external speakers. With the FP-AUD-SMARTMIC1 software and the X-NUCLEO-CCA01M1 and X-NUCLEO-CCA02M2 expansion boards, a developer can launch their first digital audio application in just hours.

X-NUCLEO-CCA02M2 expansion board contains two MP34DT06J digital MEMS microphones. Up to 4 miniature microphone modules STEVAL-MIC001V1, STEVAL-MIC002V1 and STEVAL-MIC003V1 can be additionally installed on this board. The board allows you to organize the transfer of digital audio from microphones to STM32 through I2S, DFSDM, SPI or SAI peripheral modules (selected by jumpers). Additionally, the board has a USB connector through which you can connect the USB port of the MCU directly to a PC for audio input/output.

FP-AUD-SMARTMIC1 is a dedicated STM32Cube software package for digital audio. This software package implements the functions of input and conversion of data from MEMS microphones, echo cancellation and localization of the direction to the sound source. The processed audio is transferred to a USB host (PC) and a loudspeaker connected to the appropriate expansion boards. Ready-made examples from the FP-AUD-SMARTMIC1 package can be run on the STM32 NUCLEO-F446RE microcontroller board, to which the X-NUCLEO-CCA01M1 and X-NUCLEO-CCA02M2 expansion boards are additionally connected.
