Focus Description:

For the trick, you will need three opaque glasses made of plastic or cardboard, a ball cut out of cork, a small magic wand and a table covered with a tablecloth.

Focus secret:

Take the ball from the table with the thumb and forefinger of your right hand and show it to the audience. "Now I will put this ball in the right glass," you say and pretend to put it in your left palm. Instead, roll it with your thumb over the main phalanges and pinch between your middle and ring fingers at their base.

This technique, magicians call it palming, will not work for you without practice. It contains the main secret of the trick, so take the time to achieve its error-free execution. Simultaneously with palming, you need to quickly clench your left palm into a fist. Now it remains to pretend that you put the ball under the left glass, but in fact it remains in the right hand. "Please note that the other two glasses are empty," you continue, lifting them in turn over the table. Raise the middle glass with your left hand, and the right glass with your right. When you put the right glass on the table, put the ball into it. This must be done, of course, imperceptibly to the audience. Lowering the glass on the table, grab the ball hidden in your hand with the edge. The ball will fall on the table, and the glass will immediately cover it. To securely hide the manipulation, tilt the glass towards the audience.

The trick, in essence, has already been completed, it remains only to play a spectacular ending in front of the audience. "Now, with the help of a magic wand, I will transfer the ball from the left glass through the middle one to the right glass," you say and at the same time touch the appropriate glass with the wand. Invite everyone to make sure that the ball is really not under the first or second glass, that it really went into the third glass.

The ball needs to be given a black color, clearly visible on a white tablecloth. To do this, lightly burn it on a candle flame. It will be more convenient to work with the ball if you hold it in water in advance so that it is moistened. Wipe it off before demonstrating focus. A good ball can be made from fine-grained foam.
