Focus Description:

Everything happens, really, like in a fairy tale.

You take a deck of cards from the table, open them with a fan and invite one of the spectators to take one of the cards, remember it and put it back into the "fan". You close the "fan" and let the spectator shuffle the cards. You then place this deck of cards in your pocket and ask the spectator what card he wants his card to be. The viewer says that the tenth. You draw nine cards from your pocket, and with the tenth you draw a spectator's card.

Now the performer comes up with a "fan" of cards to one, another, third, fourth spectator. Everyone draws one card and, remembering it, puts it back into the "fan". You shuffle all the cards, shuffle carefully. Then, having tightly folded all the cards into a single deck, holding it with two fingers of the left hand by the sides, barely sliding over them with two fingers of the right hand, draw out the four desired cards. These are the cards that the audience remembered. You now draw four aces from the deck. Having again fanned a deck of cards, ask one of the spectators to put these aces in turn into the card "fan". Then shuffle the cards again and put them in a deck. Then, holding the deck with your left hand, cover it with a small thin handkerchief. Count: "One, two, three!" - and under the handkerchief there will be four aces.

Focus secret:

All the props of this trick consist of a deck of cards and one colored handkerchief measuring 25 x 25 cm. This handkerchief is the most ordinary, without secrets and devices, but the cards have a secret. But I must say that this secret in the cards is not clear to any of the spectators even at a very close distance. They will not be able to catch it, even holding the cards in their hands at the moment when they shuffle them. And the trick is very simple.

The most ordinary deck of cards is taken, but the cards in it must be satin and brand new. It is necessary that the "back" of the cards be without edging (frames) and better - in a fine mesh. These cards are stacked into a deck in an immaculately even pile. The deck is placed under the press, and the large parallel edges of the cards are cut obliquely by only 2/XNUMX mm (a cone barely visible even to the player himself).

This can be done at any printing house if you cannot handle it yourself at home. But this secret is not enough to successfully demonstrate the trick. The key to the success of this trick is your utmost attention.

Fold the cards before the performance very carefully and so that the edges of the cards in the deck exactly match the cut line. Now you can start demonstrating focus. Taking this deck from the table, open it with a fan and invite the viewer to take one card and memorize it. While he is looking at the card, you quickly close the "fan" into a deck and open it again with other (opposite) edges towards the viewer. All this happens in a fraction of a second. And the viewer, not suspecting anything, remembering the card, puts it back into the "fan". By closing the "fan", you invite the viewer to shuffle the cards. He shuffles them and returns them to you.

You already know that the cards in the deck, no matter how they are shuffled, will be located exactly one to the other and their edges will be aligned. Only the card that the spectator put in will be out of formation. It will be easy for you to find it. It is enough to stack the cards in a pile, hold the edges of the cards in the deck between the fingers of the left hand, closer to the corners of the greater part of the cone, and then, by sliding the fingers of the right hand along the edges from top to bottom, you will find a card freely sliding in the deck. It will turn out to be exactly the card that the viewer remembered and put into the "fan". The trick with four cards is based on the same principle. First, let four spectators take turns drawing one card from the "fan". Then, having folded it, turn it with opposite edges and open the card "fan" again. Let the audience put into it the cards that they memorized at that time.

Now out of formation in the deck there will be these four cards, which you will also draw from the deck at the right time. Four aces are taken from the deck in exactly the same way with the right hand, only together with a handkerchief that covers the deck of cards in the left hand.

As for the initial action with the pocket, it is not difficult. Everything goes as described at the beginning of the explanation. Then, when you find a spectator card in the deck, you draw it out a little and place it, along with the rest of the deck, in your pocket. Then ask the viewer what kind of account he wants to see his card. And, depending on his desire, you first take out any cards from the deck in a row, and then the one you need.

This trick is not difficult if you work it out very carefully in rehearsals. The trick demonstration should go without a hitch. It should be done easily and naturally, as if playing. Only then will he be successful. This trick is very simple, but will require you to be especially careful preparation.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Water found on Jupiter 08.09.2018

When studying the Great Red Spot with ground-based telescopes, a team of astrophysicists from the United States managed to distinguish the spectral traces of water. Apparently, its content in the Jovian atmosphere is comparable to carbon monoxide (CO), the presence of which has been known for quite some time. Apparently, the total oxygen content on Jupiter exceeds that of the Sun by 2-9 times.

This finding supports theoretical and computer simulation models that have predicted the presence of abundant water on Jupiter. Indeed, if there is oxygen and hydrogen, then why not be water?

The spectral signatures of water were discovered by studying Jupiter's cloudiness below the uppermost layers. At first it seemed to the authors of the study that the overlying layers of the atmosphere blocked any radiation from below, but in reality this did not happen. The researchers were able to look inside Jupiter's atmosphere "thousands of miles away".

There is definitely water on the moons of Jupiter, so its presence on the giant planet is not such a big surprise. Nevertheless, the result obtained is an obvious success, since water has been detected from Earth.

According to some assumptions, Jupiter has a solid core, perhaps a dozen times larger than the Earth. It may very well be that in the foreseeable future, scientists will be able to detect it too.
