In this trick, the Genie does math and predicts the hidden number. He does this very well, as you will now see.

A.Write the number "1089" in advance in a cloud of smoke on the Jinn's card.

1. Invite the viewer to put the initials on the lamp.

2. In a masterful move, remove the card with the initials (actually the card with the number "1089") from the deck and place it face down on the table.

3. Place a notepad on the table and a pen next to it.

4. Tell the spectator: “I want you to write a number with three different digits, any number from one hundred to one thousand, but do not show me this number.” Let's say the viewer writes: "318".

5. You continue: “Now write the numbers in reverse order and subtract the smaller number from the larger one.”

Whatever the starting number, the sum after doing this is always 1089, except in the case of numbers with the same digits, such as 333 or 555. That's why you ask to write a number with three different digits. In some cases, subtraction produces a two-digit number, such as 463 minus 364 before 99. That's why you ask for a leading zero for any number less than 100. By adding a zero and reading the number in reverse order, you get 990, and together you get the same 1089. If If the result turns out different, then just check your calculations and you will find that, in the end, the Genie was right.
