You certainly know what a helicopter is. This is an aircraft without wings, or rather, with wings in the form of one or two huge propellers. The helicopter can rise vertically and land on the smallest platform, on the roof of a house, on a clearing in a forest, on a rocky mountain peak.

If you study in an aircraft modeling club, then you will be one of the first to make a model of a helicopter. This is the so-called butterfly, or duck. The screw looks up. You spin it, start the rubber engine - the model takes off and flutters in the air until the factory runs out. And then smoothly lowers, turning the screw in the opposite direction. Here the rotation is not obtained from the motor, but from the oncoming air flow. This is how the wind rotates the wings of the wind turbine.

Helicopter in reverse

It is very easy to make such a "helicopter in reverse". It will not take off, but it will land like a real one. In our drawing, a pattern is given with dimensions in millimeters. Draw it out on a piece of thick paper. Carefully cut along the contour and cut the halves of the screw. Part 4 bend and stick on part 3. Part 5 also bend and stick on top of part 4. Parts 1 and 2 - screw halves - bend in different directions. The toy is ready! Throw her from above. It should descend smoothly and evenly, rotating quickly. If it tumbles, the weight is small. Put a paper clip on the bottom of the leg.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Altimeters MS5611 and MS5607 28.08.2019

TE Connectivity manufactures precision atmospheric pressure sensors that can be used as altimeters with a resolution of up to 10 centimeters.

MS5611-01BA03, MS5607-02BA are representatives of a line of high-resolution sensors developed by MEAS (Switzerland). These barometric pressure sensors are equipped with SPI and I2C interfaces and are optimized for use in variometers and altimeters with a height resolution of 10...20 centimeters.

The assembly includes a highly linear pressure sensor and a 24-bit ultra-low power ADC with internal factory calibration. The high resolution of the internal temperature sensor allows the altimeter/thermometer function to be realized without the use of an external temperature sensor.

MS5611/MS5607 can work together with various types of microcontrollers. There is no need to program the internal registers of the device due to the simple communication protocol.

The miniature 5x3x1 mm housing allows this sensor to be integrated into portable mobile electronics devices.

The next generation sensor modules integrate MEAS' decades of excellence in MEMS technology and high volume production of altimetry modules.

The result of these technologies is very low hysteresis and extremely stable output signals, both pressure and temperature.

Features of MS560702BA03-50 and MS561101BA03-50:

High resolution altimeter:
MS561101BA03-50 up to 10 cm;
MS560702BA03-50 up to 20 cm;
Fast measurements - up to 1 ms;
Low consumption, 1 µA (standby < 0,15 µA);
Housing QFN 5,0 x 3,0 x 1,0mm;
Supply voltage 1,8...3,6 V;
Integrated atmospheric pressure sensor (24 bit ADC);
Measuring range: 10 to 1200 mbar, -40...85°C;
I2C and SPI interfaces up to 20 MHz;
No need for an external oscillator;
Excellent stability performance.
