For many years now, I have been using homemade cases made according to my own technology in my amateur radio designs.
The "P2" type enclosure is, in principle, a frameless structure consisting of a base and a lid. Both parts are U-shaped. They are made by bending from sheet steel of the required thickness so that during assembly a closed volume is obtained.
Universal frameless case: 1 - base; 2 - cover
But first, a corresponding scan is drawn on a sheet of paper, which is then transferred to a sheet of metal of the required thickness (in most cases from 0,3 to 1 mm). The marked workpiece is cut along the contour. Next, all the necessary holes, bending and flanging are performed. The latter often provides for "bunches" - holes elongated with a beard for mounting screws.
Such a constructive solution allows even beginners in plumbing and tin work to manufacture light, comfortable and fairly durable cases ranging in size from a matchbox to a large-sized TV in poorly adapted home workshop conditions. The undeniable advantage of this technology is that the U-shaped base does not impede access during layout and wiring.
The following options are equally acceptable for connecting the base and cover: using angles and screws; using flanging, screws and nuts; with the help of flanging, "bulk" and screws. Quickly and reliably in any version. And in order for the front panel in the assembled case to look "branded", the front edge of the cover should be flanged inwards. It is advisable to attach the carrying handle not to the geometric center of the cover, but in a place that will best ensure balance when possible carrying the future device.
After final processing and test assembly, the cover and base must be painted. For example, hammer or colored (preferably imported water and heat resistant) enamel.

Artificial leather for touch emulation
15.04.2024
In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>
Petgugu Global cat litter
15.04.2024
Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>
The attractiveness of caring men
14.04.2024
The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>
Random news from the Archive The sad fate of robots
19.08.2006
The British are bad at buying mechanical workers. According to the British Association for Automation and Robotics, in 2005 companies in this country bought 1085 industrial robots.
Pharmacists needed the most robots: 69 pieces, or 7% of total sales, got there. The builders got 43 pieces, and 22 robots were attached to the aerospace industry. The food industry bought 51 robots, but this is somewhat less than last year, although experts expected a significant increase.
“We have a very poor buying of robots,” says association chairman Dr. Ken Young from the University of Warwick. companies don't use them at all, which is strange as prices are coming down: a new robot can be bought for £30 and a used one for less than £30. when they realize that a lot of work has been done. Unfortunately, not everyone in the world lives by such rules. "
