Loosestrife

The most charming of the loosestrife is cletra-shaped, but it can fall out unexpectedly, but this is not the case for the dotted and coin-shaped, the coin-like place is near the water, and the dot grows beautifully everywhere, even under birches. The legend of the coin. Its leaves are copper coins that woke up from the goblin's pocket, and its flowers are gold coins.

There was once a fair in a small town. Noise-din, brisk trade, a feast with a mountain, carousels, acrobats, fortune-tellers, an orchestra, gambling. Goblin, who lives next door, simply drove him crazy. Curiosity got the better of him. What's there? For what reason this din is cheerful. The goblin dressed up, washed, combed his hair, and went to look.

For a long time he walked from the tray to the tray, looked closely, sniffed, listened, looked into the tavern. And there is a card game. I woke up in a goblin such excitement that wow! He sat down at the cards, and in his own pockets the wind was walking, but only some kind, but he was a magical creature, he sees through everyone, beats everyone. I filled my pockets full of coins, drank beer in joy and went home by night. And his pockets are thin, he lives alone, without a mistress, while he was going home, the threads completely dispersed, the coins fell out one after another through the holes and turned into a loosestrife.

Goblin woke up in the morning, can't understand - was it? did not have? It seems like yesterday he won a whole bunch of money, but where is the money? Not a coin was left in his pocket. Dreamed, no doubt.

cultivated and wild plants. Legends, myths, symbolism, description, cultivation, methods of application

Loosestrife (Lysimachia vulgaris) is a perennial plant that grows naturally in the northern regions of Europe, Asia and North America. It prefers moist soils and moist places such as river banks, swamps and forest clearings. Cultivated loosestrife is grown in sunny or semi-shady areas with well-drained soils.

Tips for growing, harvesting and storing loosestrife:

Cultivation:

  • Loosestrife is best planted in spring or autumn. Planting holes should be deep and wide enough so that the plant's roots have enough room to grow.
  • Plants should be placed at a distance of about 30 cm from each other.
  • The loosestrife loves moisture, so it should be watered regularly during periods of drought.
  • In the spring, before the start of active growth, you can fertilize with organic fertilizers.

Workpiece:

  • The loosestrife leaves are collected during the flowering period, which occurs at the end of summer or the beginning of autumn.
  • The leaves are cut, dried in a dry and ventilated place and stored in closed containers in a cool and dry place.

Storage:

  • Dry loosestrife leaves can be stored for up to a year if stored in a dry, cool and dark place.
  • The leaves can be stored as an infusion, for which 2 tablespoons of dried leaves pour 500 ml of boiling water and leave for 10-15 minutes. After insisting, the infusion should be filtered and can be used to wash wounds or as a means to strengthen the immune system.
  • Despite the fact that loosestrife is used in folk medicine, it should be used for medicinal purposes only after consulting a doctor.

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>

New method for creating powerful batteries 08.05.2024

With the development of technology and the expanding use of electronics, the issue of creating efficient and safe energy sources is becoming increasingly urgent. Researchers at the University of Queensland have unveiled a new approach to creating high-power zinc-based batteries that could change the landscape of the energy industry. One of the main problems with traditional water-based rechargeable batteries was their low voltage, which limited their use in modern devices. But thanks to a new method developed by scientists, this drawback has been successfully overcome. As part of their research, scientists turned to a special organic compound - catechol. It turned out to be an important component that can improve battery stability and increase its efficiency. This approach has led to a significant increase in the voltage of zinc-ion batteries, making them more competitive. According to scientists, such batteries have several advantages. They have b ... >>

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Stress makes the body age faster 09.12.2021

Scientists from Yale University have found out how chronic stress speeds up the biological clock and whether there are ways to slow it down and prolong a healthy life. To do this, the authors used the epigenetic clock - a set of epigenetic DNA marks that makes it possible to determine the biological age of a tissue, cell, or organ.

Stress does accelerate the aging of the body, but a person can cope with the consequences by increasing the regulation of emotions and self-control. Long-term stress, for example, increases the risk of heart disease, addiction, mood disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

She added that stress can affect metabolism, accelerating the development of obesity-related diseases such as diabetes. It also deprives a person of the ability to manage emotions and think clearly.

The scientists' study involved 444 people aged 19 to 50 who provided blood samples used to assess age-related chemical changes, as well as other indicators of health. Participants also answered questions designed to gauge stress levels and resilience.

Even after adjusting for demographic and behavioral factors such as smoking, body mass index, race, and income, the authors found that those who scored high on measures of chronic stress had markers of accelerated aging and physiological changes, such as increased insulin resistance. However, stress did not affect everyone's health to the same extent. Subjects who scored high on two dimensions of psychological resilience—emotion regulation and self-control—were more resilient to the effects of stress on aging and insulin resistance, respectively.

These findings support the popular notion that stress makes us age faster, but they also offer a promising way to minimize these adverse effects of stress through enhanced emotion regulation and self-control. In other words, the more psychologically stable an individual is, the more likely they are to live longer and healthier lives.
