The new Texas Instrument MSP432P401 microcontroller installed on the board is built on a productive ARM Cortex M4F core, operates at a frequency of 48 MHz, while consuming a record 95 μA / MHz in active mode and 850 nA with real-time clock running. In addition to a large number of standard peripherals, there is a 14-bit ADC (SAR) and an AES256 accelerator on board.

The MSP-EXP432P401R Development Board (MSP432P401R LaunchPad) contains an emulator that supports the new Energy Trace+ technology, which allows you to not only program and debug an application without the use of additional hardware, but also measure the energy consumed by an application.

All pins of the microcontroller soldered on the board are routed to edge connectors with the ability to quickly and easily connect various additional boards (BoosterPack), including those released earlier for other TI processors. MSP-EXP432P401R is compatible with 20- and 40-pin BoosterPack boards, which allow you to add a wireless data link (WiFi, 868 MHz), a touch keyboard, connect various sensors, etc.
