Unlike previously published code lock schemes, this one has the ability to change the lock code using three buttons, i.e. a sufficiently high secrecy mode is provided with a minimum number of buttons.

Let's consider the order of dialing (recording) the desired code into the lock's memory. The counters DD6, DD7 are first reset with the reset button SB6, after which a two-digit code of numbers (0 ... 7) is written to them using the buttons (SB4 and SB5).

The dialed code indication is read by the extinguished LEDs (VD1...VD6) in binary terms. To protect against bounce of the button contacts, RS flip-flops are used on the IC DD3.

Consider the operation of the circuit when opening the door lock. On the door panel, pressing the SB2 button resets the counter DD4. The SB1 button dials the first digit of the code (by the corresponding number of clicks). With a correctly dialed digit, a logical "6" appears at pin 10 of the DD0, which gives permission to dial the next digit.

The SB3 button dials the second digit. At pin 5 DD11, in the case of a correctly dialed digit, a logical "1" appears. Logic "3" is set at inputs 4, 5, 12 of DD1, and the waiting multivibrator assembled on the IC DD13 is started. It ensures the activation of the electromagnet of the actuator for a period of 5...6 s.

When the door is opened, the reed switch KM1 installed on it is triggered, which leads to the discharge of the capacitor C1 through the open transistor VT1, and the electromagnet K1 is de-energized. The selection of the solenoid operating time is made using R20.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Robot for repairing pipes from the inside 09.02.2024

American engineers have presented an innovative robot capable of moving inside pipes and repairing them using a special resin. Developed at Carnegie Mellon University, the robot weighs 27 kilograms with all its hardware, including batteries, optical and laser sensors for mapping pipes, and a repair resin module.

The robot moves on three wheels, which allows it to easily maneuver and not get stuck when turning. Its main purpose is to quickly detect and repair damage in pipelines without the need to dismantle them.

According to the developers, in eight hours the robot is able to travel about 14,5 kilometers through pipes with a diameter of 305 millimeters and apply a layer of repair resin over a distance of up to three kilometers. It currently has a range of 61 meters from the operator, but future plans include creating an autonomous version of the robot that can work in pipes of different diameters.

Robotic technologies for pipe repair represent an important step in modern engineering and environmental maintenance of infrastructure. Such innovations can significantly reduce the time and cost of network maintenance and repair, allowing for more efficient functioning of the overall infrastructure.
