DJI has launched a new professional action camera Osmo Action 4 on the market, which impressed with its innovative features and long battery life.

This innovative camera is equipped with a 1/1,3-inch image sensor capable of recording 4K resolution video at an amazing speed of up to 120 fps. It combines a high-performance f/2,8 wide-angle lens to provide an amazing field of view up to 155 degrees.

Osmo Action 4 features groundbreaking Horizon Steady 360-degree stabilization modes for capturing POV and panorama footage.

The camera has a unique 10-bit D-Log M color mode capable of reproducing nearly a billion different colors and adding detail and depth to highlights and shadows. Even under water, it retains the incredible realism of the image.

The Osmo Action 4 is rated to be water-resistant to 18 meters and frost-resistant down to -20°C, making it the perfect companion for both diving and mountain shooting.

An important feature is the long battery life, which is 160 minutes. 30W charging is capable of restoring 80% of the charge in just 18 minutes.

The Osmo Action 4 has many more features, including XNUMXx digital zoom, voice guidance, and voice control. Its unique feature allows you to hide the selfie stick in the video, creating the effect of shooting from the air.

The camera has three microphones, two screens, a microSD card slot up to 512 GB and support for live broadcasts via Wi-Fi. At the same time, the device remains light and compact, weighing only 145 grams.

Osmo Action 4 is now available for purchase in the US. The Standard Combo can be purchased for $400, while the Adventure Combo, which includes two extra batteries, a mini Osmo Action adapter, a charging case, and a 1,5m selfie stick, will cost $500.

Raspberry Pi Pico microcontroller board 28.01.2021

The Raspberry Pi Foundation, widely known for its Raspberry Pi single-board microcomputers among engineers and electronics enthusiasts, has unveiled its first microcontroller board called the Raspberry Pi Pico. Now it is the most affordable board in the Raspberry Pi range - its price in the US is only 4 dollars (113 hryvnias).

The Raspberry Pi Pico can be considered the answer to competing Arduino Nano microcontrollers for home DIY gadgets.

The basis of the Raspberry Pi Pico board is a new microcontroller of our own design RP2040. The main goals that were pursued during its development were high performance, especially for integer calculations, wide possibilities for connecting external devices and low price. The result is a tiny "crystal" with an area of two square millimeters in a QFN-56 package with dimensions of 7x7 mm.‎ The dimensions of the Raspberry Pi Pico board itself are 51x21 mm.

Specifications of the RP2040 microcontroller:

dual-core ARM Cortex-M0+ processor with a base clock speed of 48 MHz and the ability to increase up to 133 MHz;
264 KB SRAM;
support for up to 16 MB of external flash memory via the QSPI bus;
DMA controller;
integer divider interpolator and peripherals;
30 GPIO lines for connecting external devices, four of which are allocated for analog input;
controllers UART (x2), I2C (x2) and SPI (x2);
16 PWM channels;
USB 1.1 controller (client and host with UF2 boot support);
8 PIO pins (Programmable I/O state machines) for connecting branded peripherals.

The capabilities of the microcontroller are sufficient to run applications designed to process machine learning tasks. A port of the TensorFlow Lite framework has been prepared for their development. Applications can be created using C, C++, or MicroPython, and can be written via Micro USB.
