ENCYCLOPEDIA OF RADIO ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING Replacing the CD4060B chip in an amateur frequency meter. Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering / Measuring technology In an amateur frequency meter, the description of which was published in the Radio magazine, 2016, No. 9, p. 47-51, the control unit (CU) is assembled using the CD4060B (DD5) chip, which has no domestic counterpart. However, for electronic watches, the domestic industry produced the K176IE5 microcircuit, which is still available for sale, which, like the CD4060B, has a built-in logic element (inverter) for building a master crystal oscillator with a frequency of 32768 Hz. The author proposes a variant of a control unit for a frequency meter using this microcircuit. A fragment of the modified part of the BU scheme is shown in fig. 1, and the printed circuit board of the entire modified block with the arrangement of elements is shown in fig. 2.
The numbering of all elements is left unchanged. Further in the text there are links to blocks and reference designations of elements according to Fig. 1 in the above article. From the Q9 output (pin 1) of the K176IE5 (DD5) microcircuit, as in the CD4060B, a 64 Hz signal is taken and provides the HG1 LCD with excitation voltage. Due to the lack of an output signal with a frequency of 8 Hz, a signal with a frequency of 2 Hz is used for the clock frequency, which is generated at the output of Q14 (pin 4). Since this frequency is four times less, there is no need for a DD7 divider counter (CD4017B). But at the same time, the duration of the zeroing pulse entering the display unit (BI) is four times longer - 0,5 s (instead of 0,125 s). Therefore, zeros will be visible on the LCD screen before starting the countdown of the measured frequency for 0,5 s. I suppose that this may seem inconvenient to someone, but such is the replacement fee. Consider the formation of BU signals from the beginning of the cycle, when the counter-divider DD6 is set to zero with the arrival of the next clock pulse from the output Q14 of the DD5 microcircuit. A positive drop signal from the output 0 of the counter DD6 is fed to the counting input C of the trigger DD8.1. At its inverse output (pin 2), a log is set. 1 - reset signal. It enters the inputs R counters BI and resets them. After 0,5 s, the next clock pulse will set the log. 1 at the output 1 counter DD6. This signal returns the trigger DD8.1 at the input S to its previous state - the reset signal ends, and the trigger DD8.2 at the input R sets to the log state. 0 (pin 13). The switch on the transistor VT4 begins to pass the pulses arriving at its base through the resistor R12 from the switch SA1.1 to the input C of the counter DD9 BI. After 1 s, a log appears at the output 3 of the counter DD6 from the next clock pulse. 1, which translates the trigger DD8.2 input S in the previous state. Transistor VT4 opens, and the flow of pulses to the BI stops. Within 2,5 s, the value of the measured frequency is displayed on the LCD, and every 0,5 s, the log signal moves in the counter DD6. 1 from output 3 to output 8. Its appearance at output 8 resets the counter and starts the next measurement cycle.
