"Sleeping bag" for a fishing rod. Tourist tips

When I bought a new telescopic rod and made several successful fishing trips with it, I realized that I needed a strong and practical fishing rod case.

On a shelf in the garage there was a large piece of dense waterproof fabric "teza" from the awning of the body of a KamAZ car. I decided to use it to make a cover.

But first, having measured the layout and overall dimensions of the rod on a piece of plywood, which I found at hand, I sketched out a sketch. Having taken the fabric and plywood into the house, he marked and cut the fabric according to the sketch, outlining the places for fasteners-"burrs" from the inside of the cover, and their counterparts - from the outside.

I sewed fasteners and sewed a cover on an old, but very "powerful" Singer sewing machine. Then I made a fitting - the "sleeping bag" for the fishing rod turned out to be just right.

Case for a fishing rod with a telescopic or folding rod (A - a sewn case; B - a case with a rod packed in it; B - a pattern of a case with clasps): 1 - case (material "teza" from the truck body awning); 2 - reciprocal clasp - "burr" (2 pcs.); 3 - loop (material "thesis"); 4 - cover handle (material "teza"); 5-clasp - "burr" (2 pcs.); 6 - rod; 7 - fishing rod reel

Later I sewed two more similar covers for other rods, but not telescopic, but folding. The new and previously sewn cover also provided handles (approximately in the center of gravity) and loops at the top - for hanging on a nail in the wall for storage. When I go fishing on a bike, I tie the cover with a fishing rod to the frame.

Transportation of fishing rods in cases is not only more "cultured", but also more practical - the risk of damage is eliminated when making your way to the water through the bushes, and when stored with pieces of iron in the garage.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Nanomaterial of molecules twisted simultaneously in opposite directions 21.09.2019

Many biomolecules have such a property as chirality: two molecules with exactly the same structure are mirror images of each other. The most striking example of chirality is our hands: the left mirrors the right and vice versa. Another example that we see in nature is the spiral of a shell, which can be twisted to the right or to the left. "Mirror" molecules with the same structure can have completely different properties. Conventionally, a molecule twisted in one direction smells like lemons, and when it rotates in the other direction, it smells like oranges.

The detection of these distortions is especially important in some industries such as pharmaceuticals, perfumes, food additives and pesticides. Recently, a new class of nanomaterials, plasmonic nanomaterials, has been developed that can help distinguish between the chirality of molecules. These nanomaterials enhance the chiral properties of molecules when exposed to light. They are usually made up of tiny twisted metal "wires" that are themselves chiral. However, the researchers ran into a difficulty: it became very difficult to distinguish between the twist of the nanomaterial itself and the swirl of the molecules whose properties were to be studied.

To solve this problem, a team from the Department of Physics at the University of Bath created a nanomaterial that twists in one direction and the other at the same time. This nanomaterial has the same number of molecules twisted in opposite directions, which means that they cancel each other out. Therefore, when interacting with laser beams, this material remains in its usual state, without showing the properties of chirality.

The team used a mathematical analysis of the material's symmetry properties and found several special cases that could reveal a "hidden" twist and allow detection of chirality in molecules with great precision.
