In the winter season, motorsport enthusiasts experience a period of relative calm. The reason for this is the bad conditions that the driver finds himself in, having driven onto a snowy, sometimes icy road on his two-wheeled friend. And off-road you can drive only on a specially prepared (with studded wheels) motorcycle.

Using the idea proposed by Yu. Baukov from Saratov, you will get a car that is perfectly adapted for various winter sports and recreation. It will replace both the traditional kart in circuit racing on flat ground, and the motocross bike in cross-country competitions, as it has enviable stability and maneuverability. With its own weight of about 70 kg, the snow cart can easily reach speeds of up to 50 km/h. It can also be used in summer by putting wheels instead of skis.

Snegokart is a three-wheel ski vehicle with a T-200 engine from the Tourist scooter. This is one of the most reliable domestic two-stroke engines, equipped with forced air cooling, a powerful starter and a generator.

The spatial welded frame of the all-terrain vehicle is made of steel pipes with a diameter of 32 mm and consists of a transverse beam, on which the housings of the columns of the front supports and the steering wheel, two spars and a seat subframe are located, interconnected by a pair of racks and struts. In addition, it is reinforced with several crossbars and scarves, and is also protected from frontal impact by an arc that simultaneously serves to install a fairing shield. Side shields, partially covering the wheel, are designed to prevent the driver's clothes from getting into the chain or under the wheel and to strengthen the cantilever part of the seat subframe.

To simplify the frame assembly process and ensure greater accuracy of its implementation, it is best to use the simplest slipway, on which all frame elements are rigidly fixed in accordance with the working drawing.

Turned column bodies are welded to the transverse beam at an angle of 67 ° to the plane in which the spars are located. The fastening of the middle body for greater rigidity is reinforced with an enclosing gusset.

The steering column shaft rotates in two bearings. Its upper part is machined along the inner diameter of the steering rack and fixed in it with two pins. The bipod of the steering mechanism is also welded to this part of it. When the steering wheel is turned in one direction or another, it simultaneously unfolds both leashes of the front supports through the bar. The leashes, mounted on the steering shafts of the supports with the help of keys, provide the appropriate turning angle for the carrier and skis. Instead of bearings, bronze bushings are used in the columns of the supports (you can install nylon or fluoroplastic bushings). The support shaft has an eye that serves to attach the shock absorber and carrier. The latter are mounted on a common axle also through bronze bushings and washers. Standard moped shock absorbers are used as front shock absorbers.

The drive wheel is installed in special brackets made of sheet steel, placed in the slots of the spars and then welded to them and the frame uprights. The wheel is taken from the FDD motorized stroller, but with a widened rim. How it widens has already been described in our publications. In short, here they use the fact that the rim design is collapsible and, if necessary, gaskets or spacers are additionally installed between its halves. The brake drum and driven sprocket are placed on the same rim. The latter can be either standard from the "Tourist" scooter or self-made - it all depends on the maximum speed at which you are going to move on your snow cart.

The engine is mounted on the frame for regular front and lower nodes. To do this, counter brackets are welded on the corresponding frame cross members. To ensure the accuracy of the installation of these parts, they are pre-fixed on the motor, which is then placed on the frame, and the brackets are welded. After that, they check the correctness of their installation (the driving and driven sprockets must be in the same plane), remove the motor from the frame and finally weld the fasteners.

The exhaust pipe and muffler are brought out under the seat. There is enough space to accommodate them, and they are in an inaccessible and safe place for the driver. They are fixed with clamps and yokes.

The snow cart ski consists of a sole, a stiffener and an undercut. The first two parts are cut out of a duralumin sheet and welded together in argon, it is desirable that the third one be removable. This is necessary because the undercut wears out rather quickly and needs to be replaced or undermined periodically. In addition, this design allows the use of undercuts of various heights - depending on the thickness of the snow cover and its condition (fresh or dense snow, crust or even ice). As for the stiffener, it is also a bracket to which the shock absorber and carrier are attached.

The manufacture of the seat should not cause great difficulties, since it is based on a plywood frame with elevations: in the front part - to cover the cylinder head slightly protruding above the subframe, in the back - for the gas tank. The frame, pasted over with foam rubber and covered with artificial leather, is securely attached to the subframe with easily removable locks or several bolts.

The front fairing, painted in bright colors, mounted on an arc-subframe with self-tapping screws, will give a special attraction to the car. It is best to cut it out of thin sheet duralumin, carefully bend it along the leading edge, and weld the seams.

New method for creating powerful batteries 08.05.2024

With the development of technology and the expanding use of electronics, the issue of creating efficient and safe energy sources is becoming increasingly urgent. Researchers at the University of Queensland have unveiled a new approach to creating high-power zinc-based batteries that could change the landscape of the energy industry. One of the main problems with traditional water-based rechargeable batteries was their low voltage, which limited their use in modern devices. But thanks to a new method developed by scientists, this drawback has been successfully overcome. As part of their research, scientists turned to a special organic compound - catechol. It turned out to be an important component that can improve battery stability and increase its efficiency. This approach has led to a significant increase in the voltage of zinc-ion batteries, making them more competitive. According to scientists, such batteries have several advantages. They have b ... >>

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>
