I'm most interested in snowmobiling. The fact is that I live in the city of Chaikovsky, Perm Region. It is located on the banks of the Botkinskoye reservoir. Many of us are fond of ice fishing, and I am no exception. As luck would have it, all the fishing spots are far away - five to ten kilometers away. To begin with, according to the drawings published in "M-K", I built a motor boat with a D-5 engine. It turned out to be a good car, but soon it had to be abandoned: it ran quite cheerfully on the roads, and moved with difficulty on loose snow.

Having weighed his capabilities, he began to build the first snowmobiles in his life with a PD-10 engine. I must say right away that it was not possible to bring these sleds "to mind" - the design turned out to be clumsy and cumbersome. I do not regret the labor and time spent, because without such experience I would hardly have got another sled - this time with the Izh-49 engine. The design turned out to be quite efficient and at first even satisfied me. This is how a person with his eternal dissatisfaction is arranged - not having had time to run in these properly, he began to figure out the layout of the new sled - lighter, more comfortable and fast.

I designed them under the engine from the motorcycle "Ppanet-3". To make the sled light, I set myself the task of using metal as economically as possible. And reached the goal. The snowmobile, together with the engine, weighed about 80 kg, developed a good speed, and their cross-country ability was quite satisfactory.

At that time, "M-K" often published descriptions of motor art of amateur construction. I decided to try my hand. My snowmobile did not look like motor sledges in the modern sense of the word - it had two skis in the back, and a driving wheel-drum in front. I spent two years on the construction of this machine, and, unfortunately, in vain. She did not walk on loose snow at all, but crawled along the packed snow at a snail's pace. Where does she care for the aerosleigh!

And back to work. I decided to return to the snowmobile, but not the scheme I was already familiar with, but to the amphibious snowmobile. At first, he decided to make the engine himself from two modernized PD-10s. At home, he cast crankcases from duralumin, replaced the cylinders with others, from the Izh-103 engine. But, unfortunately, the engine could not be started. There was a lack of experience, a machine tool base ...

I designed the following snowmobiles for the engine from the M-72 motorcycle. The main problem at the same time was in the gearbox, but it was also solved. By this time, a small team of fans of amateur aero-sanitary construction had formed in our city, and such a gearbox turned out to be necessary for many of my comrades. Several pieces were made by joint efforts. One of them works quite successfully on my snowmobile, which received the PM-4 index. The car turned out to be quite good, with a three-bladed variable-pitch duralumin propeller, with skis that can be replaced with wheels in the summer.

I am currently working on the implementation of my long-standing idea - I want to build an amphibious snowmobile.

PM-2

Despite the serial production of caterpillar snowmobiles, snowmobiles continue to attract amateur designers. Whatever the winter, hundreds of new light, fast propeller-driven machines take to the snowy expanses. The designs that we are talking about today in the selection "Series "P" attract with ease of implementation, rationality of decisions and good performance.

The hull of these sleds is load-bearing. The frames are made of pine slats with a section of 25x45 mm, and the stringers are made of thin-walled steel pipes Ø 18 mm and wooden slats with a section of 18x25 mm. Outside, the body is sheathed with XNUMXmm plywood.

The subframe is welded from water pipes Ø 20 and 25 mm. Wooden skis, with polyethylene soles, sprung with shock absorbers from the Voskhod motorcycle.

Engine from the motorcycle Izh-49. To adapt it to the snowmobile, it was necessary to remove some of the gears from the gearbox, machine out the shaft for the propeller and the duralumin cup. I kept the clutch and kickstarter, which is very convenient for starting the engine safely.

These sleds served me for about two years, their only drawback was a relatively high center of gravity due to an unsuccessfully located engine, which significantly reduced cornering stability.

PM-3

This car, in general, is similar to the previous one, but its stability in corners is higher due to the low center of gravity. The body of the snowmobile is wooden, made of pine bars and plywood. The exception is the subframe, made integral with the rear transverse beam of steel pipes.

The propeller and the crankshaft of the engine are connected by a V-belt transmission with three-strand pulleys. The gear ratio is approximately 1:2. Engine from the Planet-3 motorcycle. Skis made of birch boards, with polyethylene soles. Scraper type brake. The speed of the snowmobile is up to 60 km/h.

PM-4

This snowmobile is my latest development, in which I tried to take into account the mistakes and shortcomings that were found in previous designs.

Snowmobile PM-4 - double, with a closed load-bearing body. The frame is wooden, with plywood sheathing. The hinged part of the lantern is curved from 1 mm thick aluminum sheet. The skis are made of duralumin tubes Ø 150 mm, the sole of each is reinforced with a duralumin XNUMX mm sheet and sheathed with polyethylene.

The engine is from the M-72 motorcycle. It is installed through rubber gaskets on a small underframe. The gearbox was removed from it, and instead a gearbox of its own design was used, which halved the speed of the driven shaft. The use of a gasoline pump made it possible to install a fuel tank at the bottom, in the trunk.

The design of the chassis provides for the installation of wheels from a scooter instead of skis, which makes it possible to operate the snowmobile also in summer.

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>
