The beauty of this iceboat, called "Tetra" (due to the shape of its frame), is that it is collapsible and can be carried to the training site in a bag or backpack. It weighs no more than 20 kg. The frame of the buer is a tetrahedron assembled on bolts from duralumin or steel pipes. The mast is composite, its elements are segments of duralumin pipes with an external Ø 40 mm, docked using segments of pipes of a smaller diameter. The lower part of the mast is made integral with the frame of the buer from a pipe Ø 50 mm.

The skates are sawn from 5 mm steel plates. All three are exactly the same, which is important when assembling a buer. The rear skates are fixed in steel forks inserted into the tube at the rear of the frame. The front one is installed in the hinge fork of the front pipe of the tetrahedron; a curved duralumin rod, passed through a hole in the fork, plays the role of a tiller - a rudder.

A polyk made of tent fabric is stretched over the triangular base of the buer.

The sail of the sailboat can be tailored from pillow teak, bologna or technical AZT fabrics. Its connection to the mast is carried out with the help of a pocket cut from a denser fabric. Linings of clew, tack and head angles are cut out of it. Eyelets are closed in the last two - metal caps with holes for braces. The sail of the buer has through armor, the material for them is plastic W-shaped profiles, usually used as guides for the sliding glass of sideboards.

Guys of the sail and boom sheet are best made from a nylon cable with a diameter of about 10 mm. For wiring the boom-sheet, four blocks are required, and one of them is double.

In terms of control technique, the buer is practically no different from a small dinghy. It should be remembered that a sailboat on land is quite unstable, therefore, when moving, an athlete needs to distribute his weight appropriately over the base area. Especially dangerous are unexpected gusts of wind - squalls. In order to parry their blows, one should bleed (release) the boom-sheet in time and position the body closer to the windward side. The movement of the ice rink on two skates is completely unacceptable, so it is important to carefully monitor that all three skates slide on the ice. Otherwise, it won't take long to tip over.

The boater's outfit includes a mandatory motorcycle helmet, a life belt (if the movement takes place on a frozen pond) and studded shoes. Knee pads and elbow pads are also desirable: you will fully appreciate their advantages after you roll over on uneven, bumpy ice.

The Tetra buer does not have to be laid up in the summer. His skates are easily replaced with wheels from a children's scooter, and the buer thus turns into a "sand yacht" - a sailboat on wheels, on which it is quite possible to ride on flat areas of the steppe, rolled dirt roads, sandy beaches.

The change is as follows.

Instead of an articulated front fork, a duralumin adapter is inserted into the pipe, in which a standard fork from a children's scooter is located along with the wheel. Mounting the rear wheels is somewhat more complicated. They are mounted on swing arms. Suspension of the wheels is carried out by a cord shock absorber or rubber rings cut from an old car or motorcycle tire. The standard wheel axle is replaced by a new one fixed in a tubular rocker arm.

SSD Micron P420m 12.05.2013

Nearly two years after the announcement of the P320h series of enterprise-class SSDs, Micron Technology introduced the P420m SSD line, which targets the same segment. As the creators note, the new SSDs are characterized by large volumes and provide high reliability, while they will cost less than models of the P320h line.

The main savings factor is the switch from SLC NAND memory to the more affordable MLC NAND, manufactured using a 25 nm process. The drives of the series will be offered in two versions: in the form of HHHL (Half-Height Half-Length) expansion cards and in 2,5-inch cases. In the first case, the PCI-Express x8 interface is used for data transfer, in the second - PCI-Express x4. Accordingly, the specifications of the drives also vary.

The 420" Micron P2,5m is available in 350GB or 700GB capacity, with a maximum sequential write speed of 1,8GB/s and a peak performance of 4 IOPS in 430KB random access reads. An HHHL SSD can be up to 000 GB or 700 TB, with sequential write speeds up to 1,4 GB/s, and 3 KB random-access read performance up to 4 IOPS.

The Micron P420m's proprietary XPERT technology is a guarantee of high reliability and a long service life of drives. So, the products are designed for a daily four-fold rewriting of the entire SSD volume for five years.

The Micron P420m is currently available as evaluation samples and mass production of the series will begin in June.
