Fern. Legends, myths, history

Fern

They say that the fern blooms only once a year on the night of Ivan Kupala, and its flower has the ability to indicate the places where treasures are buried.

According to folklore, whoever finds the magical fern flower will become wise and happy in life. People have always been attracted by the mystery of these plants, the mystery of their reproduction in the absence of flowers. All plants bloom, but this one does not - it means that it is special, marked by a secret. So legends about the fern, legends, fairy tales begin to appear around. In them - a modest inhabitant of the forests is endowed with those properties that a person has not observed in reality - the fern blooms, but not simply, but magically.

The legend of the fern is well known, in which a magical flower blooms once a year on the night of Ivan Kupala (summer solstice). In the ancient Slavic tradition, the fern gained fame as a magical plant. According to legend, it was at Kupala midnight that a fiery red fern bloomed for a short time and the earth opened up, making visible treasures and treasures hidden in it.

Around midnight, a bud suddenly appears from the leaves of a fern, which, rising higher and higher, then sways, then stops - and suddenly staggers, rolls over and jumps. Exactly at midnight, a ripe bud breaks with a bang, and a bright fiery flower appears to the eyes, so bright that it is impossible to look at it; an invisible hand rips it off, and a man almost never manages to do it. Whoever finds a blooming fern and manages to master it, he acquires the power to command everyone.

After midnight, those who were lucky enough to see a fern flower ran in what their mother gave birth through the dewy grass and bathed in the river to receive fertility from the earth.

Fern

There is also a legend about the fern. The shepherd grazed bulls near the forest and fell asleep. Waking up at night and seeing that there were no bulls around him, he ran into the forest to look for them. Running through the forest, he accidentally ran into a shoot that had just blossomed. The shepherd, not noticing this grass, ran straight through it. At this time, he accidentally knocked down a flower with his foot, which fell into his shoe. Then he became happy and immediately found the bulls. Not knowing what was in his shoe and not taking off his shoes for several days, the shepherd saved up money in this short time and found out the future. Meanwhile, earth was poured into the shoe during this time. The shepherd, having taken off his shoes, began to shake the earth out of his shoe, and together with the earth shook out the flower of the fern. Since that time, he lost his happiness, lost money and did not begin to recognize the future. It is not surprising that beautiful legends are associated with this plant.

According to another legend, in the place where a beautiful girl fell from a cliff, a pure spring arose, and her hair turned into a fern. Other legends associate its origin with the goddess of love and beauty Venus: a wonderful plant grew out of her hair shed. One of its types is called adiantum - venus hair.

It was believed that anyone who picks this flower will acquire magical powers and be able to predict the future, learn to understand the language of birds, plants and animals, and also be able to become invisible to human eyes. The flower is able to open any locks, it will help to find treasures buried in the ground. It's just not that easy to get it. If you want to try, then wait for the holiday of Ivan Kupala. Then set off at midnight, in a dense dark forest, taking with you a consecrated tablecloth, a knife and a candle. Draw a circle around the fern with a knife, stand in this circle, light a candle and spread the tablecloth. Now it remains only to wait for the fern in the circle to begin to bloom.

The most interesting thing is that all your efforts will most likely be in vain, since according to legend, the fern flower blooms for just a moment, at this very moment it needs to be picked. If everything is in order with your reaction, then stock up on courage, as the one who picked the flower will be pursued by evil spirits and will try in every possible way to scare you and take away the wonderful flower. Hide it in your bosom or in the tablecloth that you brought with you and take your feet away without turning around and not reacting to calls.

In some legends, the one who picked the flower is advised to stay in the circle until dawn, until the evil spirits are gone, then it will be possible to get home safely.

Fern

The fern became the most important hero of the plant world on the night of July 7th.

The "golden fiery color" of Russian fairy tales, the fern flower, according to the legend, opens only once a year, and even then for a few moments, at the end of Agrafen's day, at midnight. If you pluck it, you can see all the treasures hidden in the ground, no matter how deep and far they are.

True, to get such a flower is almost more difficult than the treasure itself. According to the stories, at about twelve o'clock a bud suddenly appears from the wide leaves of the fern, which, rising higher and higher, then sways, then calms down, then turns one side, then the other. Exactly at midnight, the bud opens with a crack, and a bright fiery flower appears, so bright that it is impossible to look at it; an invisible hand tears it off, and a person almost never succeeds in doing this. In the brief minutes of fern blossoming, it is as if voices and howls of evil spirits are heard, not wanting to allow a person to reach a wonderful, rare flower that has precious properties.

Whoever nevertheless finds a flowering fern and takes possession of it, he will acquire the power to command everyone. Formidable rulers will be powerless before him; evil spirits will submit to him; in any treasury, no matter what locks it may be closed, he will enter as a master, and the doors will open before him - one has only to attach a magic flower to the lock. Its owner will make his way invisible to any beauty, and there is nothing at all that would be impossible for him. Such is the power and power of the fern flower.

This is, so to speak, general information. Folk legends have also preserved specific stories.

At night, the shepherd of the bulls was grazed near the forest and fell asleep. Waking up and seeing that the bulls had left, he ran into the forest to look for them and accidentally came across a thicket of fern, which had already blossomed. Without noticing this, the shepherd ran straight through the thickets and accidentally knocked down a flower with his foot. It fell into his lap. The shepherd immediately became happy, instantly found the bulls.

He didn't even know why it happened. For a whole week without taking off his shoes, he made a lot of money and guessed everything that would happen the next day. During this time, a lot of earth was poured into the bast shoes. The shepherd, having taken off his shoes, began to shake the earth out of his bast shoes, and together with it shook out the flower. And so he lost his happiness: the money flowed away, and he forgot how to recognize the future.

But, if you take the issue seriously, the fern flower has nothing to do with it. The fern never blooms at all: it reproduces by spores, not pollen.

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

6Gbps Wireless Platform 03.03.2016

Cellular networks of the fifth generation will be heterogeneous. In practice, this will mean that the subscriber's access to communication lines will be carried out not only by connecting to the base stations of telecom operators, but also using local radio frequency networks.

These are the so-called RAN networks, which will provide high-speed data transmission without loading the base stations. Such area networks, for example, are planned to be used for traffic management or for drone flights. RAN networks are targeted at the relatively low-load mmWave.

A group of Japanese companies, including Tokyo Institute of Technology, Sony, Japan Radio, and KDDI R&D Laboratories, presented a comprehensive platform for organizing RAN networks. The developers have created a solution for transferring data to a smartphone at speeds up to 6,1 Gbps. One gigabyte of data at this speed will be transferred in less than two seconds.

The network will be two-stage full duplex for data transmission in the 40 GHz band and for client device operation in the 60 GHz band. Thus, the problem in the form of strong attenuation of radio waves in the millimeter range will be eliminated and, due to the special network topology, the issue of ensuring a guaranteed amount of traffic in the event of precipitation, which also extinguish the millimeter signal, will be resolved.
