Poisoning medications most often observed in children in families where medicines are stored incorrectly (in places accessible to children). Adult poisonings occur in accidental overdoses, suicide attempts, and drug addicts. The manifestation of poisoning is varied and depends on the type of medicinal substance.

Overdose painkillers и antipyretics (butadion, analgin, promedol, aspirin, etc.) there are violations of the processes of inhibition and excitation in the central nervous system; expansion of capillaries and increased body heat transfer. This is accompanied by increased sweating, the development of weakness, drowsiness, which can turn into deep sleep and even into an unconscious state, sometimes with respiratory failure.

The victim must be taken to a medical facility immediately. In case of violation of breathing and cardiac activity, it is necessary to carry out resuscitation measures.

Quite often, poisoning develops with an overdose. sleeping pills (barbamil and others). In case of poisoning, deep inhibition of the central nervous system is observed, sleep passes into an unconscious state, followed by paralysis of the respiratory center. Patients are pale, breathing is shallow and rare, non-rhythmic, wheezing, bubbling.

With preserved consciousness, it is necessary to wash the stomach, induce active vomiting. In case of respiratory failure, artificial respiration is indicated.

In case of poisoning drugs (morphine, opium, codeine, etc.) dizziness, nausea, vomiting, weakness, drowsiness occur. With a significant overdose, deep sleep occurs, an unconscious state that ends with paralysis of the respiratory and vasomotor center. The patient is pale, there is cyanosis of the lips, the breathing is wrong, the pupils are sharply constricted.

First aid - the quick delivery of the victim to a medical institution. When breathing and blood circulation stops, resuscitation measures are taken.

When taking significant (toxic) amounts alcohol fatal poisoning is possible. The lethal dose of ethyl alcohol is 8 g per 1 kg of body weight. Alcohol affects the heart, blood vessels, gastrointestinal tract, liver, kidneys, especially the central nervous system. With a severe degree of intoxication, a person falls asleep, then the dream passes into an unconscious state. Vomiting, involuntary urination are often observed. Breathing is sharply disturbed: it becomes rare, irregular. With paralysis of the respiratory center, death occurs.

First aid

First of all, it is necessary to ensure the flow of fresh air. Before the arrival of the doctor, immediately begin gastric lavage to prevent further absorption of alcohol into the blood: make, if possible, the victim drink up to 5 liters of warm water (38-40 ° C). It is better to prepare a solution: dissolve 1 teaspoon of baking soda in 1 liter of water. If vomiting does not occur, then they resort to irritation of the root of the tongue and the bottom of the pharynx. After vomiting, they give a second drink of warm water: this is repeated 4-6 times.

Then they put a cleansing enema with very cold water, with the addition of table vinegar (3 parts of water - 1 part of 6% table vinegar) or table salt (1 tablespoon of salt per 500 ml of water).

Performing this procedure, you need to monitor the patient's condition. Bring a cotton swab moistened with ammonia to his nose (at a distance of 8-10 cm from the nose).

After gastric lavage, it is recommended to give the patient a glass of water at room temperature with 3-5 drops of ammonia; a glass of hot sweet strong tea or coffee, a caffeine tablet. To maintain cardiac activity, it is recommended to give 20 drops of cordiamine or valocordin and put a tablet of validol or nitroglycerin under the tongue.

The patient needs to be warmly covered, overlaid with heating pads or bottles of hot water. Put an ice pack on your head, put mustard plasters on your chest.

When breathing stops and cardiac activity stops, resuscitation immediately begins.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

New OLED displays can be folded over 100000 times 12.06.2014

At SID 2014, Semiconductor Energy Laboratory (SEL), in collaboration with its subsidiary Advanced Film Device (AFD) and Nokia, unveiled flexible displays that can be folded in two or three.

Flexible OLED displays measuring 5,9 inches diagonally have an unfolded resolution of 1280x720 pixels and a density of 249 pixels per inch. They use organic white LEDs and color filters.

In the production of displays, all the necessary layers are formed on two glass substrates: on one - LEDs with control transistors, and on the second - color filters. After that, the layers are connected, and the glass substrates are replaced with flexible ones (for this, a special separating layer is initially applied between the insulating layer and the glass).

According to the developers, the minimum bending radius of an OLED display with an accordion is 4 mm, and with a "book" - 2 mm. According to project participants, the new display can be bent more than 100000 times.
