Shock can occur as a result of a severe allergic reaction, a severe infectious disease, heart disease, and also after a large blood loss. If you know the cause of the shock and it can be eliminated or reduced, then do so. For example, remove the allergen that caused the shock or give the child a strong antihistamine. If the cause is a large blood loss, then first stop the blood, then proceed to anti-shock help. If you immediately start anti-shock treatment, you can prevent damage to vital organs.

Shock Symptoms

Pale, cold and damp skin.

Thirst.

Nausea and vomiting.

Rapid shallow breathing.

Weak rapid pulse.

Dizziness.

Loss of consciousness.

When to call for emergency help:

Always, in the presence of symptoms of shock.

ATTENTION!

You can not:

move the child if he has a spinal injury;

give water and feed the child if he vomits.

First aid for shock

1. Reassure the child, monitor breathing and pulse.

2. If the child is conscious and does not have a chest injury with respiratory problems or a head injury, lay him on his back and raise his legs 20-30 cm.

3. If the child has not lost consciousness, but he has a chest injury with respiratory problems or a head injury, raise his head, not his legs.

4. To keep warm, cover the baby with a blanket or coat.

5. If the baby does not have a heartbeat, start CPR.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Impossible black hole discovered 21.11.2019

Chinese astrophysicists have discovered a black hole that should not exist. The mass of an object significantly exceeds the mass of objects of this type.

Scientists from the Chinese Academy of Sciences recorded a strange movement of the star LB-1, which indicated the presence of a massive object nearby. After a series of studies, it turned out that the mysterious invisible object is a black hole.

The black hole is 13800 light-years from Earth and weighs 68 times the weight of the Sun. These are not the maximum figures, but the problem is that comparable objects are usually found in the centers of galaxies.

Even in my wildest dreams, I could not imagine that such a massive black hole could be found in the Milky Way. If the calculations turn out to be correct, then we will have something to puzzle over.

Usually such massive objects are formed as a result of the merger of two black holes. Holes born in a different way have previously been observed only in distant galaxies, where there is a lack of elements heavier than helium. However, the star LB-1 does not complain about the shortage of building material, which means that the black hole did not experience a shortage before its transformation either.

According to calculations, a black hole when it was a star should have weighed 340 times more than the Earth. Scientists don't know if this is possible.

Nevertheless, the "impossibility" of a black hole can also be the cause of an error in measuring the distance to LB-1. So the satellite of the European Space Agency Gaia gives a distance of only seven thousand light years. If the calculations are correct, the mass of a black star is only ten times greater than the Sun.
