Intensity bleeding depends on the type of damage to the blood vessel. Small cuts tend to bleed a little. When large blood vessels (arteries or veins) are damaged, blood flows out quickly, and bleeding can be life threatening.

Signs arterial bleeding are rapid and profuse bleeding, severe pain in the damaged part of the body, bright red color of blood, blood spurts from the wound in a fountain.

RџSЂRё venous bleeding blood is dark red or burgundy in color and flows from the wound continuously and evenly.

First aid for minor wounds

1. Lubricate the edges of the wound with an antiseptic (an alcoholic solution of iodine, a solution of hydrogen peroxide, and in their absence, ethyl alcohol, vodka or cologne).

2. Without touching the surface of the wound, carefully remove loose pieces of clothing and other foreign bodies lying on it.

3. Apply a sterile (aseptic) bandage to the wound or seal it with a bactericidal plaster.

RџSЂRё any heavy bleeding you need to do the following:

  • raise the injured part of the body so that it is, if possible, above the level of the heart;
  • apply a sterile swab-bandage or clean cloth to the wound and press it against the wound;
  • apply a pressure bandage, for this, completely bandage the damaged area; if blood seeps through the bandage, apply additional napkins over the first bandage and bandage again; when applying a bandage to an arm or leg, it is necessary to leave the fingers open, they can be used to determine whether the bandage is not tightly applied; if the fingers begin to get cold, numb or change color, loosen the bandage slightly;
  • call an ambulance.

RџSЂRё arterial bleeding you can apply the method of digital pressing of the arteries. This method is used to temporarily stop bleeding in the extremities. Pressing the artery is performed above the damage, in the place where the artery is not very deep and can be pressed against the bone. The main points of digital pressure are two: the shoulder and the femur.

The imposition of a hemostatic tourniquet is the most effective way to completely stop arterial bleeding. A tourniquet is applied to the limb above the damaged part by about 5 cm. Instead of a tourniquet, you can use a wide strip of matter folded several times. It is wrapped twice around the limb and tied into one knot. Then some kind of stick (plank, scissors) is inserted into the loop and this tourniquet is twisted to such an extent until the bleeding stops. The stick (plank, scissors) is fixed with a double knot. A note is fixed under the tourniquet indicating the time of its application. Do not leave a tourniquet on the limbs for more than two hours. It is recommended to dissolve the tourniquet after one hour for a few minutes, and then tighten it again.

With venous bleeding, it is sometimes enough to raise the victim's limb higher and apply a pressure bandage.

Remember that in case of severe bleeding, you must definitely call an ambulance. To do this, call 03 and tell the dispatcher the following information:

  • exact address (street name, house and apartment number, floor, characteristic landmarks);
  • the phone number from which the call is made;
  • surname, name and patronymic of the victim;
  • what happened and what is the condition of the victim.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Lytro Illum post-focus camera 29.04.2014

In October 2011, Lytro introduced the first "light field" cameras that allow you to change the focus on finished shots, with a promise to ship in early 2012. The first Lytro camera was more of a curiosity, designed to demonstrate in practice the efficiency of the idea embodied in it. Today the developer introduced a new model that looks more like other modern cameras.

According to the developer, the Lytro Illum camera captures 40 million rays, forming an image with a resolution of about 5 megapixels.
The Lytro Illum inherits from its predecessor the key ability to capture ray streams, which allows you to subsequently "recalculate" the image by choosing the focus point. Snapshots are saved in a proprietary format that provides the required degree of interactivity.

The Lytro Illum camera is equipped with a modified sensor (1'' format, native resolution 40 MP, ready-made images are available with a resolution of about 5 MP), an 8x zoom lens (30-250 mm equivalent lens focal length) and a constant f/2.0 aperture, patented microlens system, remote shutter connector, tripod mount, flash shoe, replaceable battery, USB 3.0 port, SD card slot, and built-in Wi-Fi. The body of the device is made of magnesium alloy. At the same time, the weight of the camera together with the lens is 680 g.

The camera can be controlled mainly using the 4-inch touch screen. The display is located at an angle to the lens, which allows for comfortable shooting "from the hip").

The display allows you to view the interactive image output from the matrix before saving. Subsequently, the images can be processed on a PC: special software comes with the camera. It also allows you to create interactive animations from the captured images.

If the buyer pre-orders the Lytro Illum, they promise to engrave the inscription on the camera body for free, give a special belt as a gift, and also publish two pictures taken by him with the new camera on the Lytro website. The pre-order price of the device is $1499 ($100 less than the standard price). Camera delivery date - July 2014.

The new camera has obvious advantages compared to the first Lytro model: the display allows you to see how the picture will turn out in the end (this was clearly not enough in the first model), thanks to a more massive body, it was possible to install a memory card slot, and the sensor has 3,6, XNUMX times higher resolution.

Illum will go on sale in July for $1599.
