First Aid flame burns begins with extinguishing the fire with water or by cutting off air access to burning clothing; for this, the victim is covered with a blanket, coat or thick cloth. Often, burning clothes cause a person to panic, he loses orientation, begins to rush about or runs, thereby intensifying the flame. In this case, those around him should knock him down, extinguish the flame and free the person from smoldering clothes. In case of burns with boiling liquids or aggressive chemicals, the victim is quickly removed from the part of the clothing on which they fell.

With limited thermal burn you should immediately start cooling the burn site with tap water for 10-15 minutes. Then a clean, better sterile bandage is applied to the burn area, painkillers are applied, after which it is necessary to consult a doctor. With extensive burns after bandaging, after giving the victim hot tea, giving painkillers and wrapping him warmly, he is urgently taken to the hospital. If the transportation is delayed or lasts a long time, the burned person is allowed to drink an alkaline-salt mixture, and in the first 6 hours after the burn, the person should receive at least 2 glasses of this solution per hour.

Skin contact aggressive chemicals they are quickly washed off with plenty of water, a sterile bandage is applied and the victim is sent to the hospital. The still existing harmful recommendation to use urine for burns should be categorically abandoned, since it may contain microbes that can cause suppuration of the burn surface.

Heaviness frostbite depends on the duration of the cold. Therefore, the victim should be warmed as soon as possible by placing in a warm room, after which, in case of frostbite II-IV degree, send to a medical institution, having previously wrapped it warmly. A late visit to the doctor, especially with severe frostbite, threatens with very dangerous complications.

Before being sent to a medical institution or until a doctor arrives, the frostbitten limb should be immersed in warm water (37-40 °) and rubbed very carefully until the skin reddens and restores its sensitivity, then apply an aseptic or clean bandage. The water should not be very hot, because due to the loss of sensitivity, the victim may burn the affected area.

In no case should you rub the frostbitten part of the body with snow or immerse it in cold water. This is a deep delusion, leads to further intense cooling and exacerbates the severity of the consequences.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

BLE module for the Internet of Things ST Microelectronics SPBTLE-1S 06.08.2018

ST Microelectronics has released the SPBTLE-1S radio module for rapidly building complete battery-powered IoT devices. The module is based on a low-power BlueNRG-1 system-on-a-chip with a Cortex-M0 processor for a user application and a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 4.2) stack. The radio module can be powered directly from two AAA batteries or any other power source with a voltage of 1,7...3,6 V. The relatively high output power of +5 dBm allows you to create autonomous Bluetooth beacons with an increased range.

The presence of a built-in antenna guarantees optimal matching and completely relieves the engineer from the development of a high-frequency path. The module has passed Bluetooth certification (has BT SIG End Product QDID), which makes it easy to put the Bluetooth logo on the end product.

Using a ready-made radio module significantly reduces the development time and allows you to bring a new product to the market in the shortest possible time. This is facilitated by the BlueNRG SDK software package, which includes the BLE stack itself, a large number of standard and proprietary profiles, as well as ready-made sample applications.

To build a wireless mesh network based on the SPBTLE-1S module, you can use the STSW-BNRG-Mesh (Mesh over Bluetooth Low Energy) protocol stack.

SPBTLE-1S Features:

Compliant with Bluetooth specification v4.2:
Master and Slave operating modes;
Simultaneous work in several roles;
High performance low power Cortex-M0 core;
Built-in memory 160 KB Flash;
RAM 24 KB with saving data in sleep mode;
Interfaces:
1xUART, 2xI2C, 1xSPI, 14xGPIO, 2xtimer, 10-bit ADC, Watchdog & RTC, DMA controller, PDM stream processor, SWD debugger;
Output power + 5 dB;
Small module dimensions 11,5-13,5 mm;
AES security coprocessor;
Certification:
EU (RED) Type certificate;
FCC, IC modular approval certification;
SRRC Chinese certification;
BT SIG End Product QDID;
Built-in UART bootloader;
Operating voltage 1,7 ... 3,6 V.
Operating temperature range from -40 to 85 °C.
