2.9. Turn on the supply and exhaust ventilation.

3. Labor protection requirements during work

3.1. Keep unauthorized persons away from the machine.

3.2. During operation, the machine operator must stand near the left front (along the feed) corner of the machine, guiding the workpiece from the side so that if it is accidentally thrown back, it does not get hit.

3.5. Before sawing, it is necessary to inspect each board in order to prevent sawing boards with dried mud, clay, mortar residues, concrete, ice and nails.

3.6. Do not accept or pass any items through a running machine.

3.7. When sawing boards with rotten or loose knots, as well as with cracks, it is necessary to slow down the feed.

3.8. Do not bring close to the saw blade and do not touch the moving parts of the machine. When working, use guide pushers.

3.9. Do not remove saw blade guards. It is forbidden to work without a riving knife.

3.10. Supervises the work of an assistant, whose duties include:

  • take on the sawn board so that it does not have a warp in relation to the saw blade;
  • remove the sawn board only after it goes beyond the riving knife;
  • stack the workpieces in a stack and clean the machine workplace from scraps and sawdust in a timely manner.

4. Labor protection requirements in emergency situations

4.1. In the event of a saw malfunction, ground break, strong vibration and other malfunctions that can lead to an emergency, the machine operator must:

  • suspend further work;
  • immediately notify the work manager or foreman and the person responsible for the good condition of the saw.

5. Labor protection requirements at the end of work

5.1. The machine operator is obliged to turn off the machine, lock the knife switch and put the workplace in order.

5.2. Tidy up the workplace.

5.3. Clean overalls from dust.

5.4. Report to the master about all the shortcomings found during the work.

5.5. Wash your hands or take a shower.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Tsunami pacified by mathematics 08.02.2017

Mathematician Usama Kardi of Cardiff University published a calculation of artificial acoustic gravity waves, which theoretically can significantly weaken the tsunami.

The calculation of the mathematician shows that by creating two acoustic gravity waves (AGW), it is possible to significantly reduce the frequency of a wave of much greater amplitude. True, in practice, the creation of such waves is an extremely difficult task: for this you need to spend a lot of energy, and building a generator will cost a lot. On the other hand, there are no other ways (at least theoretical) to weaken the tsunami at the disposal of mankind yet.

Acoustic gravitational waves should not be confused with gravitational waves - perturbations of the gravitational field, which are born during black hole mergers, supernova explosions and neutron star mergers. AGW is a special case of internal or inertial gravity waves propagating in elastic media. One of the factors that determine their existence is the force of gravity, hence the word "gravitational" in the title.

In nature, AGWs arise, for example, in the atmosphere and in water as a result of large-scale geological and atmospheric phenomena - earthquakes, meteorite falls, and other catastrophes. Recently, an atmospheric gravitational wave was discovered in the atmosphere of Venus.

Underwater AGWs accompany tsunamis; it is possible that such accompanying oscillations can be recorded to predict the giant waves themselves. As Cardi's calculation shows, two AGWs directed towards a tsunami are capable, interacting with it, of significantly reducing its amplitude - and this may mean thousands of saved lives.

However, this will require generating oscillations with such a large wavelength that is almost unattainable with the current level of technological development. Perhaps it would be easier to reflect and adjust the AWGs generated by the tsunami itself, the mathematician believes. But until modulators and transmitters capable of doing this are developed, the concept of tsunami attenuation by sound waves remains purely theoretical.
