Instructions on labor protection for a machine operator of woodworking machines engaged in the processing of workpieces on tenoning machines. Full document Occupational Safety and Health / Standard instructions for labor protection Safe Operation 1. General requirements for labor protection 1.1. General safety requirements are set out in the Instruction "General safety requirements for professions and types of work in furniture production". 1.2. Dangerous and harmful production factors: moving machines and mechanisms, moving parts of production equipment; moving products, blanks, materials; increased noise level in the workplace. Sources of factors: rotating knife heads, discs, cutters; mechanisms for feeding blanks, lumber; workpiece processing process. Action factors: the possibility of contact with the cutting tool, the possibility of contact with moving and rotating parts of the machine, the possibility of departure and breakage of saw blades, the possibility of ejection of the processed material; negative impact of noise on the hearing organs. 1.3. Personal protective equipment: cotton suit; combined gloves; goggles; hearing protection. 2. Safety requirements before starting work 2.1. Check the sharpness of the sharpening of the cutting tool, make sure that there are no cracks, broken teeth, notches. 2.2. Monitor the correct installation of devices that secure knives, cutters, saws. 2.3. Check that the braking device is working. 2.4. Check the serviceability of the clamping device, carriages (side shields must be attached to the carriages to prevent contact with the cutting tool). Set the guide rail on the machine carriage perpendicular to the feed direction. 2.5. Make sure that the solid guard of horizontal, vertical cutterheads and saws is in good condition. 2.6. Check the condition of the safety bars that protect the cutter from the non-working side of the tenoning machines for the dovetail box tenon. 2.7. Check the condition of the automatic ejector of the double-sided tenoning machine and the inclined planes of the shield that regulates the position of the material on the supply chain, the condition of the supply chain guards and the conveyor sprockets. 2.8. Check the correct operation of the pneumatic transport, its blocking with the starting device. 2.9. Make sure that the cutting tool rotates towards the movement of the parts. 3. Safety requirements during work 3.1. Install only the tool that is necessary for processing the workpiece. 3.2. When processing workpieces with curved surfaces, use templates and clamps. 3.3. The supply of sawn timber should be carried out evenly, without shocks and at the required speed of rotation of the shaft of the cutting mechanism. 3.4. Remove parts from the carriage only when it returns to its original position. 3.5. Make sure that the workpiece is securely fastened with a clamping device over the entire width. 3.6. Do not work on machines with gloves on. To protect your hands, use special handhelds. 3.7. Inspection, cleaning, wiping, checking the quality of processing parts, fixing fences, cleaning waste from the machine to be carried out with the machine completely stopped. 3.8. If there is a knock, vibration, change in the nature of the noise, overheating of the cutting tool, turn off the machine and inform the master. 4. Safety requirements in emergency situations 4.1. Turn off equipment. 4.2. Post a table about the malfunction of the machine or equipment and report this to the direct management. 4.3. In the event of a fire or extinguishing a flame, use a nearby fire extinguisher. 4.4. The victim or bystander must notify the appropriate work manager of each accident or poisoning. 4.5. The worker must be able to provide first aid. Such assistance is provided immediately, directly at the scene and in the following sequence: first you need to eliminate the energy source of injury (switch off the engine, stop the mechanism, remove the victim from under the car, a heavy object, etc.). Assistance should begin with the most significant that threatens life or health (in case of severe bleeding, apply a tourniquet, and then bandage the wound; if a closed fracture is suspected, apply a splint; with open fractures, first bandage the wound and then apply a splint; in case of burns, apply a dry bandage ; in case of frostbite, gently rub the affected area using soft or fluffy tissues). If spinal injury is suspected, transport the victim only in the supine position on a rigid base. 4.6. After providing first aid, the victim should be sent to the nearest medical facility. 5. Safety requirements at the end of work 5.1. Turn off equipment. Wait for it to come to a complete stop. Tidy up the workplace: remove tools, fixtures; clean the machine from dirt and dust; wipe and lubricate the rubbing parts of the machine; neatly fold the finished parts and the remaining material. 5.2. Cleaning of wood waste (sawdust, shavings, dust) from the surface of the equipment, as well as from overalls, is carried out with a brush, sweep or using vacuum cleaners. It is unacceptable to blow the machine and clothes with compressed air. 5.3. Rags used during work and when cleaning, put the rags in a special metal box with a closing lid and take it outside the workshop to a specially designated place. 5.4. Wash hands with warm water and soap. 5.5. Report all noticed shortcomings in the operation of the equipment to the shift worker or foreman.
