Safe Operation

1. General requirements for labor protection

1.1. General safety requirements are set out in the Instruction "General safety requirements for professions and types of work in furniture production".

1.2. Characteristics of dangerous and harmful production factors

1.2.1. Increased dust and gas content in the air of the working area.

Source: the presence of fumes of toxic substances that are part of paints and varnishes.

Action factor: the possibility of poisoning with toxic substances.

1.2.2. Chemicals that penetrate the skin and mucous membranes.

The source of the factor: irritating substances that are part of the finishing materials.

Effect of the factor: harmful effects on the face, skin of the hands and other parts of the body.

1.2.3. Explosion and fire hazard.

Sources of factors: the possibility of sparking, open fire.

Action factor: the possibility of injury during an explosion, fire.

1.3. Personal protective equipment: cotton robe; goggles with indirect ventilation; cotton semi-overalls; antistatic shoes; technical rubber gloves.

2. Safety requirements before starting work

2.1. Inspect the room and make sure that there are no foreign objects in the cabin and in the workplace; check the serviceability of respirators, goggles, rubber gloves.

2.2. Check the serviceability of the spray guns, oil and water separations, paint pressure tanks, grounding devices of the spray guns, spray tank, fastening of removable tank covers.

2.3. Turn on supply and exhaust ventilation and local suction for 10 minutes. before the start of work.

2.4. Lubricate hands with protective paste, silicone or other special cream.

3. Safety requirements during work

3.1. When performing finishing operations, follow the technological instructions for applying paints and varnishes to parts and products in booths for pneumatic spraying.

3.2. When working with a spray gun, stay outside the cab, open opening, opposite the exhaust outlet. The distance from the varnished surface to the sprayer must be at least 250-300 mm.

3.3. For opening, cleaning containers and internal walls of the cabin, for cleaning the premises, repair and adjustment work, use tools made of non-ferrous metal that does not form sparks during shock and friction (aluminum brushes, scrapers, etc.).

3.4. Follow the pressure on the pressure gauge (pressure in the oil and water cleaner should not exceed 0,5 MPa, in the paint blower - 0,2-0,25 MPa).

3.5. Pour the varnish into the varnish pressure tank only after the pressure has been relieved.

3.6. Do not dry parts after finishing outside shelters equipped with local suction.

3.7. Use gloves (rubber or biological) and other personal protective equipment.

3.8. It is not allowed to work in the cabin simultaneously or sequentially with finishing materials of different composition.

3.9. Observe precautions when working with initiator for polyester varnishes. Store the initiator in the supplier's container, in no case in a rigid or galvanized container. Do not pour initiator with steel funnels. Do not allow dirt, foreign matter, steel objects, etc. to enter the initiator.

3.10. Accidentally spilled lacquer, solvent and other paints and varnishes on the floor should be covered with sand, then collected with a shovel in a bucket and taken out to the place provided for this. Wash the floor with soap and water.

3.11. Make sure that containers and cans with paints and varnishes are tightly closed.

3.12. Do not accumulate empty tanks and cans from under paint and varnish materials at the workplace, they must be taken out in a timely manner.

4. Safety requirements in emergency situations

4.1. Turn off equipment.

4.2. Post a table about the malfunction of the machine or equipment and report this to the direct management.

4.3. In the event of a fire or extinguishing a flame, use a nearby fire extinguisher.

4.4. The victim or bystander must notify the appropriate work manager of each accident or poisoning.

4.5. The worker must be able to provide first aid. Such assistance is provided immediately, directly at the scene and in the following sequence: first you need to eliminate the energy source of injury (switch off the engine, stop the mechanism, remove the victim from under the car, a heavy object, etc.).

Assistance should begin with the most significant that threatens life or health (in case of severe bleeding, apply a tourniquet, and then bandage the wound; if a closed fracture is suspected, apply a splint; with open fractures, first bandage the wound and then apply a splint; in case of burns, apply a dry bandage ; in case of frostbite, gently rub the affected area using soft or fluffy tissues). If spinal injury is suspected, transport the victim only in the supine position on a rigid base.

4.6. After providing first aid, the victim should be sent to the nearest medical facility.

5. Safety requirements at the end of work

5.1. Drain water, oil and dirt from the oil-water purifier through the drain cock into the tank, tightly close the lid and take it to the designated place.

5.2. Clean the cabin, observing the following conditions:

  • turn on local suction;
  • rinse spray guns, hoses, tanks, wearing a respirator, goggles and rubber gloves;
  • clean the interior surfaces of the cab;
  • after cleaning the cabin, turn off the local suction.

5.3. Rags, rags used during cleaning, as well as paint and varnish dust and paper removed from the walls of the cabin and equipment should be placed in a metal box and taken out of the workshop to the designated place.

5.4. Lubricate the inner walls of the cabin after cleaning with grease and paste over with paper.

5.5. Take out the solvent used during the washing of spray guns and tanks to the designated place. Draining the solvent into the sewer is not allowed.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>
