Safe Operation

1. General requirements for labor protection

1.1. General safety requirements are set out in the Instruction "General safety requirements for professions and types of work in furniture production".

1.2. Characteristics of dangerous and harmful production factors

1.2.1. Moving machines and mechanisms, moving parts of production equipment, moving products, blanks, materials.

The source of the factor: a rotating polishing drum.

Effect of the factor: possible contact of workers with a rotating drum, the possibility of a workpiece being ejected.

1.2.2. Increased dust and gas content in the air of the working area.

The source of the factor: non-working local suction and supply and exhaust ventilation.

Action factor: the possibility of disease, poisoning.

1.2.3. Increased level of static electricity.

Source of the factor: shield polishing operation.

1.2.4. Explosion and fire hazard.

Sources of the factor: dust of explosive concentration, sparking.

Action of the factor: the possibility of injury to the worker in the event of an explosion, fire.

1.3. Personal protective equipment: cotton robe; cotton apron with bib; goggles with indirect ventilation; technical rubber gloves.

2. Safety requirements before starting work

2.1. Check for correctness:

starting devices, devices for fastening polished parts on the table; polishing drum guards and gears, table travel limiters, braking device, local exhausts, supply and exhaust ventilation.

3. Safety requirements during work

3.1. When laying parts for polishing, make sure that they are securely fastened to the table.

3.2. Apply polishing paste to the surface of the shields with a swab equipped with a handle.

3.3. Adjust the pressure of the polishing drum to avoid overheating and burning washers.

3.4. Do not correct the parts to be polished while the table is moving.

3.5. Do not work in clothes made of synthetic fabrics.

4. Safety requirements in emergency situations

4.1. Turn off equipment.

4.2. Post a table about the malfunction of the machine or equipment and report this to the direct management.

4.3. In the event of a fire or extinguishing a flame, use a nearby fire extinguisher.

4.4. The victim or bystander must notify the appropriate work manager of each accident or poisoning.

4.5. The worker must be able to provide first aid. Such assistance is provided immediately, directly at the scene and in the following sequence: first you need to eliminate the energy source of injury (switch off the engine, stop the mechanism, remove the victim from under the car, a heavy object, etc.).

Assistance should begin with the most significant that threatens life or health (in case of severe bleeding, apply a tourniquet, and then bandage the wound; if a closed fracture is suspected, apply a splint; with open fractures, first bandage the wound and then apply a splint; in case of burns, apply a dry bandage ; in case of frostbite, gently rub the affected area using soft or fluffy tissues). If spinal injury is suspected, transport the victim only in the supine position on a rigid base.

4.6. After providing first aid, the victim should be sent to the nearest medical facility.

5. Safety requirements at the end of work

5.1. Switch off the machine.

5.2. Swabs, rags, rags used during work, folded in a metal box, should be taken out of the workshop to a specially designated place.

5.3. For cleaning equipment, cleaning the premises, as well as repair and adjustment work, use tools made of non-sparking material.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Restoration of hair growth on damaged skin 30.11.2018

Scientists from the New York University School of Medicine (USA) studied the effect of various signaling pathways on damaged skin in laboratory mice. In his experiment, these pathways were stimulated by cells called fibroblasts, which produce collagen, a structural protein responsible for maintaining the shape and strength of skin and hair, and also perform a repair function in wounds and any other tissue damage.

The researchers activated the Sonic Hedgehog (SHH) signaling pathway, which cells use to communicate with each other. This pathway is known to play a large role in the early stages of embryonic growth in the womb when hair follicles are formed. But in other cases, the activity of this pathway is suspended. Perhaps this explains why hair follicles cannot grow in skin formed after injury or surgery.

Activation of the SHH signaling pathway helped restore hair growth on damaged skin in laboratory mice. Hair began to grow already within four weeks after the injury to the skin.

"Our results show that stimulating fibroblasts enhance the Sonic Hedgehog signaling pathway and can induce hair growth that has not previously been seen in wound healing," says Cell Biologist Mayumi Ito, Senior Researcher, Associate Professor of Dermatology Ronald O. Perelman at the New York University School of Medicine.

The team plans further research on how chemical and genetic fibroblast stimulants can activate the Sonic Hedgehog signaling pathway in damaged human skin cells.
