Instructions for labor protection when cutting, delimbing Occupational Safety and Health / Standard instructions for labor protection Safe Operation 1. General requirements for labor protection General labor protection requirements are set out in the instructions "General requirements for labor protection for workers engaged in logging and forestry work". 2. Safety requirements before starting work 2.1. The foreman (link) should clarify with the foreman the specifics of cutting (trimming) branches at a given cutting site, dangerous zones and other safety requirements specified in the technological map for felling, which the team gets acquainted with before starting work. 2.2. Do not arbitrarily change the established order of work without the permission of the master. 2.3. Check the completeness and serviceability, put on special clothing, safety shoes and safety devices and constantly use them in work. 2.4. Check the serviceability of the equipment: the ax is mounted and wedged, the blade is sharpened (the angle of the nozzle is 84 degrees, the ax handle is made of dry hardwood, without hooks and burrs), the saw (lopper) is in a tucked state, with a directed saw chain, with working safety equipment. 2.5. When starting a petrol lopper (chainsaw), you must: remove unauthorized persons from it at a distance of at least 1,5 m; Place the chain saw on a solid object and place the chainsaw on a flat surface so that the teeth of the chain do not touch surrounding objects; take a stable body position, with a sharp jerk of the starter, start the engine; warm up the engine at low speeds; Test sawing to ensure proper sharpening of the saw chain and proper operation of the tool. If faults are discovered during inspection and trial cutting and it is impossible to eliminate them on your own, you must report them to a foreman or mechanic. It is not allowed to use a faulty tool. 3. Safety requirements during work 3.1. When starting work, the limber must inspect the workplace and, if necessary, clear the paths to approach the trees, as well as outline the sequence of techniques for felling (trimming), collecting and burning branches. 3.2. The branches of trees lying along a slope of 20 degrees or more and across a slope of 15 degrees or more are cut off and the trees are secured. The chopper is located on the upland side. 3.3. When cutting branches, the chopper must take a stable position and be on the opposite side of the tree from the tree being cut. It is necessary to cut off (trim) branches in the direction from the butt to the top of the tree. 3.4. It is not allowed to come closer than 5 m to a worker cutting (trimming) branches. 3.5. When cutting branches with a gasoline-powered lopper, it is necessary to place the emphasis close to the branch, and then insert the sawing apparatus into the wood with light pressure. The stop of the petrol lopper must protect the worker’s foot in any position. 3.6. It is necessary to move the cutting part onto the branch smoothly, without jerking or hitting, to avoid the sawing apparatus from rebounding. When trimming branches, observe the rule of sliding and supporting the saw on the trunk. For a stable position, place the feet at a distance of 30-40 cm from each other and 10-12 cm from the trunk when trimming the upper and side branches. Do not change the position of your feet until the end of the work cycle unless the guide bar is on the opposite side of the trunk and the saw body is not resting on the tree trunk. 3.7. When clamping the sawing apparatus in a cut, it is necessary to turn off the engine and then release the sawing apparatus. 3.8. When moving from one tree to another, the engine of a lopper (chainsaw) that is not equipped with a brake must be turned off, and one equipped with a brake must be on. 3.9. The cutter (cutter) of branches is not allowed:
3.10. When cutting thick branches with a gas-powered saw (lopper), you must:
3.11. Chopped branches must be removed as they accumulate, while being careful to avoid injury to the face or bruises during transitions. 3.12. It is necessary to carry branches with mittens and small loads so that you can clearly see the road in front of you. 3.14. When burning branches, care must be taken to ensure that sparks do not fall on clothing. 3.15. When clear-cutting, when the collection of branches at the cutting site after the end of the forest hauling is carried out using a mechanized method, it is necessary:
3.16. Pruning (trimming) of branches on windfall trees should be done after sawing off the butt block. 4. Safety requirements in emergency situations 4.1. The victim or eyewitness must notify the foreman or the relevant work manager about each accident, and after providing pre-medical care, if necessary, take the victim to a medical facility. If possible, preserve the situation of the incident. 4.2. During a thunderstorm, work stops, metal objects and mechanisms are placed away from people, and people, if possible, should take shelter indoors or take a safe place in a clearing, in small folds of terrain on a hillside, between trees growing at a distance of 20-25 m from each other. During a thunderstorm, it is prohibited to hide under trees, lean against their trunks, be near or under power lines, come closer than 10 m to separate trees, poles, towers, lightning rods, tall stones, etc., be at the top of a hill, or closer 10 m from machines and mechanisms. 4.4.
