Caring for poisonous snakes and lizards can only be done by a terrarium employee who is specially trained in the rules for handling them, who knows the peculiarities of their biology and knows how to handle special tools and devices for cleaning rooms, giving food, performing inspection, etc. 2. In the terrarium, medical instruments and medicines used in case of bites by poisonous animals must always be available. They may only be used by specialists specially trained in their use. The victim of the bite of poisonous animals is immediately given first aid measures, after which he must be immediately sent to the nearest medical facility with an escort. 3. Before opening the doors of rooms where poisonous animals are kept, it is necessary to carefully inspect their location, check their number and make sure that they are safe to handle. Each room with poisonous animals must have an inscription indicating the number of animals kept. 4. Distribution of live food, change of water, cleaning of sewage in rooms with poisonous animals is carried out only through the upper doors. Sewage is removed with special scoops, brushes with long handles, ensuring that the hands of the attendants are outside the premises. 5. Fixation of poisonous animals for medicinal purposes, movement, etc. is carried out only by responsible specialists of the terrarium using special nets, loops, tongs and other fishing gear. 6 In cases of receipt of new poisonous animals according to accompanying documents or inscriptions on transport boxes, packing bags, it is necessary to accurately determine the type of animal. If there are no inscriptions, the calculation of actions is taken to the highest degree of danger. It is strictly forbidden for animal service workers to open transport boxes, unpack parcels, and untie bags with poisonous animals. 7. Arriving at work, the terrarium personnel assigned to the sites must carefully check the presence of animals, the serviceability of all locks in the cages, the integrity of the glass, gratings, nets and other structures. If any of the kept animals is found to be absent in one or another terrarium, measures are taken to search for it; visitors are not allowed to enter until it is found and caught. The search for animals is carried out in the presence of bright light, in compliance with the safety rules and always by a group of employees. In all cases of the disappearance of terrarium animals from the premises, the responsible employee of the terrarium department (section) must immediately notify the zoo management. 8 Care for large reptiles (crocodiles, boas, pythons, monitor lizards, etc.) is carried out only by specially trained employees. Entry to large animals is allowed only if you have protective equipment in your hands - shields, nets, special sticks, etc. It is forbidden entrance to premises with large animals to one employee from the service staff. His work should be carried out under the supervision and with the direct assistance of a specialist. 9. In the department (section) there should be a set of emergency equipment (nets, kreuzers, fork sticks, loops, tongs, etc.), which is stored in a specially designated place under lock and is used only in emergency cases. Responsible for the storage and serviceability of emergency equipment is a regular livestock specialist of the terrarium. 10. All movements of animals in the terrarium are carried out only in the presence of responsible employees, the involvement of workers and employees of other departments of the zoo for these works is allowed, provided that they are given appropriate instructions. 11. When handling poisonous amphibians, it is necessary to use thin rubber gloves. 12. All work on animal maintenance is carried out by service personnel in overalls, which are removed at the end of the working day and stored in special cabinets. 13. When handling animals that have the ability to throw poison at a distance, it is necessary to use protective goggles with transparent glasses. 14. Sight glasses in rooms with poisonous animals must be unbreakable. 15. All rooms with poisonous animals should have a warning sign posted both from the side of the auditoriums and from the side where the animals are served. 16. All staff of the terrarium must be trained in the rules for handling animals and familiarized with their biological characteristics. 17. When installing electric heaters in rooms with animals, such and electrical wiring to them must be inaccessible to animals. 18 Sewer outlets from pools and water holes must be sealed with nets, gratings with holes that do not allow the entry of kept animals into them. 19. The corpses of dead animals are removed from the premises with the help of hooks, tweezers, tongs, etc. and immediately sent to veterinary laboratories in special galvanized boxes. Inspection of corpses, especially poisonous animals, is strictly prohibited for the maintenance personnel of the terrarium. 20. When closing the terrarium, the responsible employee carefully checks all the locks on the premises, the keys are stored in a certain place.
