Safe Operation

1. General safety requirements

1.1. To work as an operator of the loading and unloading plant, persons are allowed not younger than 18 years of age, who have passed the introductory and primary briefing at the workplace on labor safety, trained in safe working methods and techniques.

1.2. The operator of the loading and unloading plant during the performance of work is obliged to comply with the safety requirements set forth in this manual.

1.3. For non-compliance with the requirements of this manual, the operator is liable in accordance with applicable law.

2. Safety requirements before starting work

Before starting work, the operator of the loading and unloading plant must:

2.1. Get a job.

2.2. Put on overalls, safety shoes, prepare the necessary personal protective equipment.

2.3. Verify:

• the condition of the workplace, its cleanliness and unclutteredness. The passage around the loading installation must be at least 1 m;
• the availability and serviceability of the loading hopper, fixtures and tools, signaling blocking and other devices, protective grounding, ventilation;
• operation of switches;
• make sure the workplace is adequately lit.

2.4. Conduct an external inspection and test run of the equipment:

• idle operation of the conveyor and the correct running of the belt
• operation of the shutter (material must flow onto the belt evenly across the width of the belt).

2.5. An external inspection of the mechanisms should be carried out when the electricity is turned off with a safety sign hung on the starting device that prohibits a safety sign with an explanatory inscription "Do not turn it on - people are working!".

2.6. Detected violations of safety requirements must be eliminated on their own, and if it is impossible to do this, the operator is obliged to report them to the foreman or work manager.

3. Safety requirements during work

During operation, the operator of the loading and unloading plant must comply with the following safety requirements.

3.1. Perform only work appropriate to his profession.

3.2. Work on the equipment only when the exhaust ventilation is on, using personal protective equipment. For hearing protection - earmuffs. Respirators for respiratory protection.

3.3. Do not turn on the equipment if the starting device has a safety sign with an explanatory inscription "People do not turn on".

3.4. Trained and certified personnel - slingers - are allowed to work with the grab. When servicing the grapple, the slinger must be in a safe area.

3.5. To unload the bunker with a grab after removing the load-handling devices from the bunker

3.6. When chiseling lumps of frozen material, use a serviceable tool. Climbing onto the bunker grate from the platform

3.7. When installing the loading hopper on the site, observe safety measures when working with a crane. Do not allow unauthorized persons to enter the site

3.8. Rise and descent to the grate and from the grate of the bunker to be carried out from the platform

3.9. Before starting the equipment (belt conveyor), give a sound signal and make sure that it is safe to start for workers

3.10. Monitor the correct running of the conveyor belt, the tension of the belt. When slipping and running off the belt, turn off the conveyor and call the locksmith on duty.

3.11. Starting the equipment after repair is carried out only with the permission of the shift foreman.

3.12. During the operation of the conveyor belt, the loader is allowed to:

• clean up spilled materials;
• keep the tape from slipping off the drum with any random objects;
• do not put your hands into the conveyor shaft, beware of a sudden reverse motion of the belt;
• repair and tighten the tape;
• prevent sticking of material on the rollers;
• transport heavy objects (parts, products) on the belt.

3.13. In the event of an emergency on the conveyor, immediately stop the belt using the locking device or the start button.

4. Safety requirements in emergency situations

4.1. In cases:

• sudden power outage;
• equipment failure;
• blocking, signaling, protecting devices;
• the appearance of unusual knocks, noises in the operation of the equipment;
• voltage detection on metal parts;
• the presence of a smell of burning, smoke in the workplace

the operator must:

• turn off the equipment immediately;
• report the incident to the shift foreman and follow his instructions in the future.

4.2. In case of injury, the operator of the loading and unloading installation is obliged to notify the foreman and contact the health center.

4.3. If someone else was injured, it is necessary to provide first aid to the victim, call an ambulance, take the victim to a health center and report the incident to the master.

4.4. If a fire or signs of burning (smoke, burning smell, elevated temperature, etc.) is detected, the operator must:

• immediately inform the fire brigade about this by phone; at the same time, it is necessary to give the address of the enterprise, the place of the fire, and also give your last name;
• take, if possible, measures to evacuate people, extinguish a fire and preserve material assets, report the incident to the shift foreman or work manager.

5. Safety requirements upon completion of work
