Safe Operation

General safety requirements

Only medical personnel with a secondary medical education, having certificates of specialization, trained in labor safety, having a qualification group I in electrical safety, and not having medical contraindications are allowed to independently conduct a massage.

All newly hired employees must undergo an introductory briefing by an occupational safety engineer. The results of the briefing are recorded in the entry log for labor protection.

Each newly hired person must undergo an initial briefing on labor protection at the workplace. All office workers are re-instructed at least once every 6 months. The results of the briefing are recorded in the briefing log at the workplace.

When applying for a job and periodically, at least once every 12 months, the knowledge of massage nurses on labor safety issues must be tested according to a program approved by the head physician.

The employer is obliged to provide massage nurses with sanitary clothing and footwear, sanitary clothing and personal protective equipment:

• cotton robe;
• cotton cap or scarf;
• as well as soap, clean towels (electric towels) for washing hands in washrooms.

When working for a massage nurse, exposure to the following hazardous and harmful production factors is possible:

• increased (lower) air temperature of the working area;
• allergic reaction to creams;
• increased voltage in the electrical circuit, the closure of which can occur through the human body.

Massage nurses are required to:

• comply with labor protection requirements;
• correctly apply means of individual and collective protection;
• undergo training in safe methods and techniques for performing work, briefing on labor protection, internships at the workplace and testing knowledge of labor protection requirements;
• immediately notify their immediate or superior manager of any situation that threatens the life and health of people, of any accident that occurs at work, or of a deterioration in their health, including the manifestation of signs of an acute occupational disease (poisoning);
• undergo mandatory preliminary (when applying for a job) and periodic (during employment) medical examinations (examinations);
• observe fire safety rules, know the location of fire extinguishing equipment;
• master the skills of providing first aid for burns, poisoning, electric shock and other injuries.

Employees who have violated labor protection instructions are subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the internal labor regulations and, if necessary, an extraordinary examination of knowledge of labor protection norms and rules.

Safety requirements before starting work

Before starting work, you must:

• put on sanitary and hygienic clothes, replaceable shoes, make sure that the equipment of the workplace is in good condition, in case of defects, immediately inform the head (senior nurse, head of the department) about this;
• check the correct operation of the supply and exhaust ventilation.

Requirements for the premises of the massage parlor

For massage, a separate room is allocated at the rate of 8 m2 per workplace, the minimum area is 12 m2.

The massage room should be provided with supply and exhaust ventilation with five air changes per hour.

The massage room should be equipped with a washbasin with hot and cold water supply, individual wardrobes for overalls.

When working in a shift of 4 or more massage nurses in an adjacent room, a shower unit should be equipped for them.

The room temperature must be at least +22°C.

Safety requirements during work

Persons not related to work should not be in the massage room.

On the hands of massage nurses there should be no jewelry (rings, bracelets). Nails should be cut short.

When carrying out procedures using electrical equipment, electrical appliances, it is necessary to be guided by the requirements set forth in the manufacturer's operating instructions.

When performing procedures, medical personnel should not allow the procedures to be performed by the patients themselves.

At the end of work with each patient, the massage nurse should wash her hands, treat them with a softening cream.

Safety requirements in emergency situations

In the event of a fire, evacuate patients, notify the head doctor about the fire, call the fire brigade by phone 01; prior to her arrival, take measures to extinguish the fire with the help of primary fire extinguishing equipment

In case of other emergencies (breakdown of water supply, sewerage, heating, ventilation systems, etc.) that impede the performance of technological operations, stop work and inform the elder sister or head of the department about this.

All cases of microtrauma, as well as measures taken in connection with this, are subject to registration in a special journal.

Tidy up your workspace.

Check that the power supply, ventilation and water supply systems are turned off.

Carry out a wet cleaning of the work area

Take a shower and put sanitary-hygienic clothes in an individual closet.
