Safe Operation

1. General requirements for labor protection

1.1. Persons at least 18 years of age who have passed a medical examination, as well as a special training course, who have passed an exam and have a certificate, are allowed to work on servicing the nozzles on the dryer drum. Admission to independent work is issued in writing in the briefing log at the workplace.

Before admission, the worker must undergo an introductory safety briefing.

Re-testing the knowledge of the workers of the safety rules is carried out once every 1 months.

1.2. The dryer nozzle maintenance worker must know and perform:

device, principle of operation of nozzles, drying drum;
the main types of malfunctions in the operation of this equipment;
safe practices for servicing liquid fuel injectors;
fire safety rules;
rules of internal labor regulations;
provide first aid in case of injury.

2. Labor protection requirements before starting work

2.1. Put on the prescribed overalls, tarpaulin trousers, tarpaulin jacket, leather boots, combined gloves, headgear, goggles with light filters.

2.2. Check the serviceability of the fuel oil supply system, pressure gauges, turn on the fan and blow out the dryer drum for 3-5 minutes.

2.3. The temperature of the fuel oil must be at least 80-90°C.

2.4. Prepare an igniter, the metal handle should be 1,5-2 m.

2.5. Check that there are no flammable substances (petrol, thinner) near the tumble dryer.

3. Labor protection requirements during work

3.1. Turn on the oil pump.

3.2. Light the igniter and bring it to the mouth of the nozzle, slightly open the valve and the fuel oil supply lines, after the torch flares up, adjust the combustion by supplying air. Combustion should be without pulsations, stable.

3.3. It is forbidden for the worker serving the nozzle to leave the workplace or transfer his duties to a person who does not have the right to do so.

3.4. Regulate the normal combustion of the nozzle by means of the supply and fuel oil valves.

4. Labor protection requirements in emergency situations

4.1. When the torch goes out, the burner must:

close the valve on the fuel oil supply line;
blow (ventilate) the dryer drum;
find out the reason for the extinction of the torch and start kindling.

4.2. If defects are found in the operation of the dryer drum that pose a danger to human life and the integrity of the equipment, immediately stop work, if possible, disconnect the electrical equipment from the mains, take measures to eliminate the accident. Report the incident to the supervisor.

5. Labor protection requirements at the end of work

5.1. Upon completion of work:

close the fuel oil supply valve and nozzle, stop the fuel oil pump;
ventilate the tumble dryer for 5 minutes and stop the fan.

5.2. Unplug electrical equipment.

5.3. Take off your overalls, take a shower.
