Occupational Safety and Health / Legislative basis for labor protection

Comments on the article Comments on the article

Increased requirements for labor protection, and, consequently, special rules for labor protection are established in certain sectors of the economy, taking into account harmful and difficult working conditions.

Harmful working conditions are recognized, characterized by the presence of harmful production factors that exceed hygienic standards and have an adverse effect on the body of the worker and his offspring.

Severe working conditions are considered to be those characterized by such levels of production factors, the impact of which during the work shift creates a threat to life, a high risk of severe forms of acute occupational injuries. The main restrictions on the use of labor in heavy and hazardous work are established for women and workers under the age of 18. Therefore, when considering this issue, one should be guided by the by-laws specified in the sections "Women's labor protection" And "Labor protection of minors".

The criteria by which restrictions can be set are quite different. This is mainly the age of the worker and his state of health. As a rule, taking into account the severity and harmfulness of such work, a preferential retirement age is set for employees under certain conditions.

Heavy and hazardous work is present in many industries. Here are just a few of them: underground work; metalworking; mining; construction; exploration and topographic and geodetic works; drilling of the wells; Oil and gas; ferrous metallurgy; non-ferrous metallurgy; repair of equipment of power plants and networks; shipbuilding and repair; processing of oil, gas, shale and coal; cement production; sea transport; river transport; connection; civil Aviation; printing industry, chemical industry, etc.

If you are a production worker with difficult and harmful working conditions, you should familiarize yourself with the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR dated October 2, 1991 No. 517 "On pensions on preferential terms for old age (by age) and for length of service", establishing that in the territory The Russian Federation applies approved by the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the USSR of January 26, 1991 No. 1 "Lists of industries, jobs, professions, positions and indicators giving the right to preferential pension provision."

There are only 2 such lists:

  • List No. 1 of industries, jobs, professions, positions and indicators in underground work, in jobs with especially harmful and especially difficult working conditions, employment in which gives the right to an old-age pension on preferential terms;
  • List No. 2 of industries, jobs, professions, positions and indicators with harmful and difficult working conditions, employment in which gives the right to an old-age pension on preferential terms.

You should carefully read the entries in the work book made by employees of the personnel department. Make sure that the name of your profession, job and position held is recorded in accordance with the job classifier, all orders for appointment and dismissal are correctly indicated. This is necessary so that in the future when assigning a pension you will not have unpleasant situations.

Latest news of science and technology, new electronics:

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven 09.05.2024

Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>

plastic airplane 29.05.2012

Plastics have long been used in the construction of small aircraft. But it's the first time that a solid airliner has been made from carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic.

This is a Boeing 787 for 370 passengers. More than half of the aircraft, including the fuselage and wings, are made of carbon fiber-reinforced epoxy composite. The new technology made it possible to make the fuselage in one piece, so that there was no need for 40-50 thousand rivets, screws and nuts. If for all this fasteners on the Boeing 747, a million holes had to be drilled in the fuselage, in the new Boeing there are less than 10 thousand of them. The hull has become much stronger, and thanks to the lightness of new materials, the aircraft saves 20 percent of fuel.

So far, only two plastic liners have been produced, but the company has already received 825 orders from 56 airlines. True, skeptics emphasize that if the behavior of metals and alloys commonly used in aviation has been well studied over the past few decades, then composites are relatively new materials and it is not known how they will behave over the normal service life of a passenger aircraft - 30 years.
