Qualification requirements: higher professional education and work experience in the specialty for at least 2 years or secondary vocational education and work experience in the specialty for at least 3 years.

II. Official duties

Workshop manager:

Supervises the production of maintenance and repair of rolling stock, units and machines, the manufacture and restoration of spare parts and parts.
Ensures timely completion of assigned tasks and contracts.
Promotes the organization of efficient work of repair workers, reducing the cost of repairs with a high quality of repair work.
Analyzes the results of the work, organizes accounting, compilation and timely reporting on the production activities of the workshop.
Carries out work to improve the organization of production, technology, mechanization and automation of production processes, prevent defects and improve the quality of repairs.
Ensures the implementation of measures for the organization of labor, the use of advanced domestic and foreign experience in organizing the production and operation of equipment, the development of rationalization and invention.
Coordinates the work of site foremen.
Carries out the selection of personnel, their placement and appropriate use.
Participates in the billing of works and workers.
Provides control over the course of the production process, rational use of equipment, energy and material resources, spare parts and parts.
Ensures the conduct of production briefings, compliance by employees with the rules and norms of labor protection, production and labor discipline.
Makes proposals on the promotion of distinguished employees, the imposition of disciplinary sanctions on violators of production and labor discipline.

III. Rights

The head of the workshop has the right:

to give instructions to subordinate employees and services, tasks on a range of issues included in his functional duties.
control the fulfillment of production tasks, the timely execution of individual orders by subordinate services and divisions.
request and receive the necessary materials and documents related to the issues of its activities and the activities of its subordinate services and divisions.
interact with other enterprises, organizations and institutions on production and other issues that are part of his functional duties.
get acquainted with the draft decisions of the management of the enterprise regarding the activities of the Division.
propose for consideration by the manager proposals for improving the work related to the duties provided for in this Job Description.
submit proposals for the appointment, transfer and dismissal of employees of a subordinate unit, proposals for encouraging distinguished employees, imposing penalties on violators of production and labor discipline for consideration by the head.
report to the manager on all identified violations and shortcomings in connection with the work performed.
communicate with representatives of the press, transfer official information to other organizations as an employee of the enterprise:

on all matters related to your field of activity in the enterprise.

compliance with current instructions, orders and orders for the preservation of trade secrets and confidential information.

Scientists at NIST have developed a new type of artificial intelligence (AI) hardware that can use less power and run faster - and it can already taste wines virtually.

As with traditional computer systems, AI has physical hardware circuits and software. Hardware usually has a large number of conventional silicon chips that consume a lot of power: for example, it takes about 190 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity to train one modern commercial processor.

A less energy intensive approach is to use other kinds of hardware to create neural networks. One promising device is the magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ). Devices on MTJ consume several times less energy than their traditional counterparts. MTJs are faster because they store data in the same place where calculations are performed.

The new neural network, like ordinary tasters, should train their taste. The team trained the network using 148 wines made from three types of grapes. Each virtual wine had 13 characteristics that needed to be taken into account: alcohol degree, color, alkalinity and magnesium. Each characteristic was assigned a value from 0 to 1 so that the network would take it into account and distinguish one wine from another.

Next, the AI passed a virtual test with a dataset that included 30 unknown wines. The system worked with an accuracy of 95,3%.

The authors did not have the task of creating an AI sommelier. The main conclusion is that MTJ devices can be expanded and used to create new AI systems.

The amount of energy consumed by a system depends on its components, but if you use MTJs as synapses, you can cut energy consumption in half.
