In a city, especially a large one, many factors cause discomfort and disease. The urban environment is dangerous. Of particular concern is the high rate of injuries and deaths in road traffic accidents.

The complex of negative factors of the production environment is characterized by diversity and high levels of impact on a working person. The most common factors include gas contamination and dustiness of the air in the working area, unfavorable temperature conditions, increased noise, insufficient lighting, heavy physical work, and increased vibrations. If safety requirements are not observed in the working environment, occupational diseases, injuries, poisoning and death are inevitable.

The general situation with injuries at enterprises is complicated by the depreciation of all types of equipment - from the main to cleaning systems.

Over the past decade in cities, the use of products made of polymer synthetic materials has significantly increased in the decoration of offices of banks, joint-stock companies, various markets, supermarkets, small offices (lawyers, notaries, realtors), as well as homes of wealthy people. Now it is called euro-finishing, euro-design, euro-repair. There are about 90 types of such materials - wallpapers (vinyl, washable, etc.), plates and tiles for walls and ceilings, flooring, PVC doors and windows, furniture using plastics, various impregnating resins, adhesives.

Foreign researchers have established emissions from all these "charms" of design in the form of chemicals - phenol, benzene, xylene, formaldehyde, acrylates, phthalates, etc.

Back in 1985, studies were carried out in England in offices, offices and living quarters, saturated with products made of polymers and plastics; as a result, it was found that people and especially children get sick more often, allergic and colds, neurasthenia and hypertension are observed.

These studies were carried out in England after receiving 13 reports from different places about cases of acute poisoning in the offices and apartments of the British from the fumes of chemical compounds.

Added to this urban phenomena is the negative impact in the form of radiation from office and household appliances (computers, copiers, printers, microwave ovens, televisions, video and audio tape recorders, etc.), as well as the release of mercury vapor from fluorescent lamps and lamps.

In Russia, similar studies were also carried out, in particular, with the help of elementary gas analyzers. As a result of the research, the presence of harmful chemical compounds in the plastic products themselves and in the air of the premises where they were used for decoration and assembly was established. That is why it was decided to present hygienic certificates when importing such products to Russia by import deliveries, as well as by domestic enterprises - manufacturers of plastics and household chemicals.

One of the security measures is the creation of oases of plants, fountains of small forms in offices, apartments, limiting the use of plastic products.

The system of bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, based on statistical data, established the following high risk areas (according to road accidents and cases of a criminogenic nature):

1) stations (bus stations, river, sea, railway, air terminals);

2) markets (retail, wholesale, collective farm fairs, clothing);

3) shops, supermarkets;

4) entertainment establishments (discotheques, casinos, nightclubs, cafes, bars, restaurants). According to the above objects, accidents occur in the adjacent territories and on roads, entrances, parking lots, criminogenic events occur both at the objects themselves and in the territories adjacent to them. Many injured people come from these areas.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Mobile phones with 3-megapixel cameras will appear this year 22.06.2004

Three Korean mobile phone makers - Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics and Pantech Group - are preparing to introduce handsets with 3-megapixel cameras as early as this year, the Korea Times reported, citing industry sources.

If that happens, then the resolution of phone cameras will triple a year after Samsung and Pantech released megapixel copies. Samsung is first going to catch up with its rival LG and release an intermediate version with a resolution of 2 megapixels, as well as a built-in MP3 player.

LG Electronics has already released the LG-SD330 with such a camera, and is preparing to introduce a 3-megapixel camera phone this summer. Pantech is about the same level as Samsung. Currently, commercially available camera phones have a resolution of 300 pixels, which is incomparable to the quality of even the simplest digital cameras.

The three-millionth milestone of matrices will make a separate digital camera useless, and this will greatly undermine the market for the latter, primarily cameras of the lower and middle class.
