To obtain hot water in the bath, a register tank on the stove pipe (or a boiler in the stove itself) and a remote tank in the sink are often used. The circulation of water between it is carried out by natural motivation due to the difference in the specific gravity of hot and cold liquids at a temperature difference.

Due to the low natural pressure in such a system (100-300 Pa), it is recommended to use pipes with an inner diameter of at least 25 mm and a length of not more than 2,5 m, and also observe the slope of the pipes from the remote tank to the register tank. But even if all the above recommendations for pipe installation are observed, it is difficult to provide more than ten times the hourly water exchange in the remote tank and, consequently, rapid heating of the water in it.

To speed up the heating of the liquid in the remote tank by increasing the frequency of water exchange and to simplify the installation of pipes by reducing the requirements for their length, diameters and the optional observance of slopes when laying them, the installation of a circulation pump in the system, which provides artificial circulation of water between the remote tank and the register tank, allows .

Thus, the installation of the ELS25-4 circulation pump provides a pressure in the system of the order of 1500 Pa and a hundred-fold hourly water exchange in a 50-liter remote tank.

If necessary, the rate of water heating in the remote tank can be additionally adjusted both by changing the productivity (rotation speed) of the circulation pump and by opening the opening of the control valve.

Electrical safety in the bath is ensured by the use of a residual current device and the choice of electrical equipment with a protection class of at least IP44.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Reduction of emissions from metallurgical enterprises 15.03.2023

Scientists at the University of Birmingham in the UK have developed a low-cost process for existing steel mills that can cut emissions by about 90%.

As is known, the metallurgical industry accounts for 7-9% of the world's anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions.

A modification proposed by Drs. Yulong Ding and Harriet Kildahl removes coke from the cycle by pumping CO directly into the blast furnace. This gas is produced by capturing the CO2 generated in the furnace and splitting it into CO and oxygen. Oxygen can be used in the second part of the steelmaking process when the gas is blown through the molten iron to burn off some of the carbon in the metal.

The technology is based on the BCNF1 perovskite material (a mixture of barium carbonate, calcium carbonate, niobium oxide and iron oxide). When the recycling system pumps CO2 through the reaction chamber, BCNF1 captures oxygen atoms from the gas and absorbs them into its crystal structure, leaving the CO. After a day, BCNF1 is saturated with oxygen atoms, so it needs to be rejuvenated. To do this, nitrogen from the blast furnace is pumped through the perovsk, cleaning the material.

The scientists propose to install two reaction chambers, one of which will be used for CO production and the other for rejuvenation and oxygen production. In a day, their roles will change, which will allow the system to work around the clock.

The technology has been successfully tested in laboratory conditions without any degradation of BCNF1.

The coke not only provides a source of CO for the iron reduction process, but also provides structural support for the ore in the blast furnace. This allows the gas to rise and the molten iron to flow down. The team of scientists is considering replacing coke with ceramic materials as one of the options.

Steelmakers and scientists are discussing the launch of a demonstration model within 5 years.
